transpile-webpack-plugin's Issues

The automated release is failing 🚨

🚨 The automated release from the master branch failed. 🚨

I recommend you give this issue a high priority, so other packages depending on you can benefit from your bug fixes and new features again.

You can find below the list of errors reported by semantic-release. Each one of them has to be resolved in order to automatically publish your package. I’m sure you can fix this πŸ’ͺ.

Errors are usually caused by a misconfiguration or an authentication problem. With each error reported below you will find explanation and guidance to help you to resolve it.

Once all the errors are resolved, semantic-release will release your package the next time you push a commit to the master branch. You can also manually restart the failed CI job that runs semantic-release.

If you are not sure how to resolve this, here are some links that can help you:

If those don’t help, or if this issue is reporting something you think isn’t right, you can always ask the humans behind semantic-release.

No npm token specified.

An npm token must be created and set in the NPM_TOKEN environment variable on your CI environment.

Please make sure to create an npm token and to set it in the NPM_TOKEN environment variable on your CI environment. The token must allow to publish to the registry https://registry.npmjs.org/.

Good luck with your project ✨

Incorrect path separators on Windows

webpack.config.js:

config.plugins.push(new TranspilePlugin({ extentionMapping: { '.ts': '.js' } }))

main.ts:

import './some-file'; // also .ts
...

If the build is done on Windows, the generated output would contain Windows path separators. This is not correct since node module paths should always use /.

main.js (on Windows):

__webpack_require__(".\\some-file.js");

CSS support

I have this in my entry file:

import './refined-github.css';

This normally generates entry.js and refined-github.css using mini-css-extract-plugin

When adding your plugin, the output is:

entry.js

This file should be empty, but instead it tries to import the CSS file:

(() => {
  "use strict";
  var __webpack_require__ = {
    r: exports => {
      if ("undefined" != typeof Symbol && Symbol.toStringTag) Object.defineProperty(exports, Symbol.toStringTag, {
        value: "Module"
      });
      Object.defineProperty(exports, "__esModule", {
        value: !0
      });
    }
  }, __webpack_exports__ = {};
  __webpack_require__.r(__webpack_exports__);
  require("./refined-github.css");
  module.exports = __webpack_exports__;
})();

refined-github.css

This is a .css file with JS inside, that does nothing

(() => {
  "use strict";
  var __webpack_require__ = {
    r: exports => {
      if ("undefined" != typeof Symbol && Symbol.toStringTag) Object.defineProperty(exports, Symbol.toStringTag, {
        value: "Module"
      });
      Object.defineProperty(exports, "__esModule", {
        value: !0
      });
    }
  }, __webpack_exports__ = {};
  __webpack_require__.r(__webpack_exports__);
  module.exports = __webpack_exports__;
})();

refined-github.css.css

This contains the CSS from the original CSS file

Config

My config is approximately:

const path = require('node:path');
const MiniCssExtractPlugin = require('mini-css-extract-plugin');
const TranspilePlugin = require('transpile-webpack-plugin');

module.exports = {
	entry: 'entry.js'
	context: path.resolve('source'),
	output: {
		path: path.resolve('distribution/assets'),
	},
	module: {
		rules: [
			{
				test: /\.css$/,
				use: [
					MiniCssExtractPlugin.loader,
					'css-loader',
				],
			},
		],
	},
	plugins: [
		new MiniCssExtractPlugin(),
		new TranspilePlugin(),
	],
};
