Have the bot parse a leading character to indicate a command rather than having to type out the whole name.

I suggest something like !command, as /command might interfere with irc commands.

Since Gandalf sees every message anyway, it'd be relatively trivial to make him log either to a text file or even a full fledged database.

I was using stuff like u0001ACTION to simulate a /me for the bot, but that seems to have broken. Now when you do something (namely gandalf_bot: slap <user>, you get the actual string, including the codes.

To recreate this issue, just try gandalf_bot: ticker test issue and he'll die all over the place.
