  • “免费定理”并不能完全传达原文作者在英文语境下（free as in thereom）的那种俏皮的表达（实际上，这种“俏皮”也是贯穿本书全文的风格）。
  • 因为 free 这一词的多义性，力求精确的写作者会特别说明其含义是“免费”还是“自由”，而为达此目的常用的句式便是“free as in beer”和“free as in speech”。
  • 本节中引用的论文“Theorems for free”（该论文作者 Philip Wadler 是 FP 理论泰斗，Haskell 类型系统作者之一）中的 free 显然是作“免费”义。“free as in theorem” 这一标题，真是妙不可言。
