cll's Issues

Looking thru the TODO file ...

The file says:

2. Example 2.9 could do with some re-formatting (compare 5.3 in http://dag.github.com/cll/2/5/ )

While I can find 5.3 easily enough, which part is Example 2.9?

Check for weird page breaks and fix them

Original line in the TODO files

For example, C2. S11: "gismu:" (pdf). It looks okay now, but it used be on a line by itself.

pri:low because page breaks should be checked after all other formatting/content issues are solved.

pdf: check and fix
html-nochunks: n/a
html-chapters: n/a
html-sections: n/a
epub: check and fix
mobi: check and fix

C2. S5. Example "Talking is going on..." could do with some re-formatting

Original line in the TODO file

Example 2.9.
Talking is going on, with speaker John and listener Sam and subject matter engineering and language Lojban.

Compare with the equivalent example in http://dag.github.com/cll/2/5/

5.3)   Talking is going on,
           with speaker John
           and listener Sam
           and subject matter engineering
           and language Lojban.

C4. Examples 4.24, 4.26-4.38, 4.46-4.51, 4.52-4.70 are missing content

Original lines in the TODO file: L33 L35

The content in question gets deleted by xml/docbook2html_preprocess.xsl

All formats are affected.

4.24: seems ok now
4.26: seems ok now
4.27-4.37: no missing content but #96
4.38: seems ok now
4.52-4.56: needs fix (missing parentheses)
4.46-4.51: needs fix (missing parentheses)
4.57-4.66: seems ok now
4.67-4.70: no missing content but #97

Note that all the example numbers are for the HTML version.

8.10: use ko'e rather than ke'a after ke'a goi ko'e

An example in 8.10 seems inconsistent with the gloss and, while technically correct, kind of silly as written. I'll attach my suggested patch: 0a74f4f

Note that I'm new to lojban, so I might have misunderstood something here, but I think this was what was intended.

C4. S2. "cmavo" Some examples have unnecessary bullet points

(No corresponding line in the TODO file)

Specifically, these examples:

Example 4.6.
* .e'o ko ko kurji
* .E'o ko ko KURji

Example 4.8.
* le RE. NANmu

Example 4.9.
* LE re NANmu

Example 4.10.
* le re NANmu

The bullet point comes from being a <li> in an ul.itemizedlist.

C15. Diagram on pg. 375 could use some work

Original line in the TODO file

To examine this concept more closely, let us draw a linear scale, showing two examples of how the scale is used:

  Affirmations (positive)      Negations (negative)
  |-----------|-----------|-----------|-----------|
  All       Most        Some         Few       None
  Excellent Good        Fair         Poor     Awful
