karl's Introduction

Karl is an android app that shows you where you've been.

Karl has two namesakes:

  1. Carl von Clausewitz, who invented the term "fog of war"
  2. Karl the Fog is SF's anthropomorphic marine layer (https://twitter.com/KarlTheFog)

Roadmap:

  • Get the user's location on click
  • Store the user's location (using file storage)
  • Get the user's location every N minutes.
  • Show a map
  • Black out map sections that the user hasn't been to
  • Allow users to play custom ranges of time
  • Default to "play" since last play time
  • Implement optional logins
  • Allow users to opt into data backups

Maybes:

  • use db storage instead of file storage
