Using Home Assistant to Make an IoT Coffee Pot

TODO:

  • Get control layer setup from Home Assistant
  • Get control layer on to Raspberry Pi
  • Create in/out interface for relay control
  • Create in/out interface for pi control (slackbot?)
  • Connect components
  • Drink Coffee
  • Champagne.

REALISTIC TODO:

  • AUTOMATION AROUND ENV VARS
  • Replace Nginx on Pi with small Go Web Server
  • Trim all fat off of Pi (remove Ruby, camera software, etc.)
  • Determine if docker/swarm can be used
  • Set up port forwarding
  • Add DMZ to router
  • Setup Dynamic DNS for multiple sub-labels
  • Add/Configure/Daemonize ddclient on Pi
  • Deploy Home Assistant to Droplet
  • Explore Docker and automation for above also
  • Determine location for state machine and polling
  • Champagne
