‘Title’ column truncates long titles on Win XP

Original user request:
"Make column widths automatically save after being dragged to a preferred width
or make the ‘Title’ column at least double the default width – the
default remaining column widths are just wide enough."

Downloads may fail with the getWizPnP error - "Search for WizPnP devices failed"

Downloads may fail with the getWizPnP error - "Search for WizPnP devices
failed" when connecting via a device name, even after listing programs
succeeded using that device name. This has only occurred on one Win 7 Ultimate
PC that I'm aware of and the issue does not occurr on the same users Win XP PC.

Workaround (thanks to netmask from the Beyonwiz forum): connect using IP or
IP:Port syntax.

Bad WizPnP response: No device description returned

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.load yardwiz, admin rights granted.
2.yardwiz connects, downloads program listings correctly
3.attempting to download selected show causes yardwiz to sit for a while and
then reports with the "Bad WizPnP response: No device description returned"

What version of YARDWiz are you using? On what operating system?
yardwiz 0.3.8.1
windows pro 7

Please provide any additional information below.
running as administrator
confirmed the above behaviour with comodo firewall turned off

Make a version of YARDWiz for QNAP/Synology/etc... NAS's

I've been asked a few times to make a version of YARDWiz for
QNAP/Synology/etc... NAS's.

While it's likely to be technically possible to get getWinPnP running on these
NAS's, the YARDWiz GUI would have to be completely rewritten to run in a web
browser. This is not something I am willing to do.

Crash on rescheduling already scheduled downloads

Schedule one or more downloads, click Tools->Scheduled Recordings... and change
the scheduled date/time, YARDWiz will crash.

Fixed by r436.

Fix will be released in 0.4.1. Until then, workaround by cancelling the
original schedule and scheduling the recording/s for download again.

getWizPnP process exited early

This is a known issue with the Beyonwiz Firmware 01.05.334 (and perhaps
01.07.334 for the later DP-P2 but I don't know for sure). It's nothing to do
with YARDWiz. The only fix is to upgrade the firmware on your PVR to 01.05.350
(or 01.07.350 if you have a later DP-P2).

Firmware downloads and instructions can be found on the Beyonwiz website:

Unable to kill getwizpnp.exe subprocess on Windows

On Windows when running from pythonw.exe, the getwizpnp.exe subprocess has
proven troublesome to kill (i.e if you want to pause or stop a download). I've
had to fallback to using the taskkill.exe program that is included in most
recent versions of Windows (XP and later). Taskkill.exe is not included in
Windows XP Home edition and I don't know if it is included in Windows Vista/7
basic/home/starter editions.

If this is an issue, an alternative is to download PsTools?.zip from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896683 and extract PsKill.exe
to somewhere on your PATH. YARDWiz will then attempt to use pskill instead.

List recordings hangs part way through the list

If I enable quick listing, the titles and dates are all listed, but when YARDWiz starts listing the details, it gets through about a dozen before hanging, always after the same entry. It just keeps saying "Connecting..." with the progress bar moving, but nothing else is ever loaded. At this point, "Delete" is greyed out on the context menu, and if I try to download anything, the actual download never starts.

If I disable quick listing, YARDWiz just lists the details of a dozen entries before hanging the same way.

I should probably mention that I deleted a large number of recordings using YARDWiz. (I can't re-index because my Beyonwiz's remote control functions no longer work. Network access is my only access.)

Edited YARDWiz debug log follows:

YARDWiz hangs on completion of downloads

The issue is wxpython on OSX is having trouble with wx.Sound.
Workaround for the hang on OSX is to disable playing a sound on completion of
all downloads. Uncheck - "Settings->Preferences->Sounds->Play sound after
download".

Sort order not working

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Connect to a WizPnP server, wait for update to complete
2. Click "Title" in the titles bar to sort on title
3. List changes, but is not in any discernible order

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the list of recordings to be displayed sorted in alphabetical order. I
can see any logic to how the entries are ordered.

What version of YARDWiz are you using? On what operating system?
0.4.3 - sorting was working on previous version 0.4.2.1, confirmed by reverting.

Please provide any additional information below.
Sorting by Channel, Date, Size and length all work, just Title doesn't (ie: the
most useful!)

Resuming paused download issues

YARDWiz 0.4.2 and getWizPnP 0.5.3

Issue:
Resuming a paused TS format download starts the download from the beginning,
overwriting the already downloaded portion so it appears (speed shows 0.0 MB/s)
that nothing is happening until the same amount has been downloaded again.

Resuming a paused TVWIZ format download fails to resume the datafile that was
being downloaded prior to pausing and starts downloading the following datafile
leaving the previous datafile incomplete.

Cause:This is a bug in getWizPnP 0.5.3

Workaround: replace getWizPnP executable with getWizPnP version 0.5.2 from
http://www.openwiz.org/wiki/GetWizPnP_0.5.2

Antivirus software flags yardwiz.exe or getwizpnp.exe as malware

There have been issues with AVG and Symantec (SONAR) antivirus software
reporting yardwiz.exe or getwizpnp.exe as malware. These reports are "false
positives" and there is nothing to worry about, there is no malware in YARDWiz
or getWizPnP and all the source code is available for you to peruse if you so
desire.

If you get a false positive, please report it to the antivirus software maker
and also let me know.

How to report as a false positive:
AVG - http://forums.avg.com/ww-en/avg-forums?sec=thread&act=show&id=395
Symantec/Norton/SONAR - https://submit.symantec.com/false_positive

YARDWiz <=v3.1 never finishes listing recordings

From http://www.beyonwiz.com.au/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=91150#91150

"When a recording has bookmarks. getWizPnP goes into infinite recursion trying
to load the bookmarks."

A YARDWiz workaround is to enable quick listing in your preferences.

Download name is truncated.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. From a device with multiple files with names such as "Marvel's Agents Of

"Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.ts"

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see the full file name, not the truncated one. The problem is also
that if you say download 10 files and they all have a similar prefix, then the
downloads will overwrite, or fail.

What version of YARDWiz are you using? On what operating system?
0.4.5 OSX

Speed up recording listing

Speed up recording listing by parsing <wiz>/index.txt.
Note: the index gets out of sync with the recordings after a delete until the
wiz is re-indexed (see the BUGS section in the getwizpnp documentation).
