ahoy's Issues

Ability to define commands for a container

For my application, I need to be able to define the commands/args I want the container to use to start up. For example, we have a container that uses the following command:

           command:
            - /usr/bin/catalog-admin
            - --config=/etc/catalog-admin/config.yml
            - --bind-address=0.0.0.0:9420
            - --tls-bind-address=0.0.0.0:9443
            - --cert-file=/etc/catalog-admin-tls/tls.crt
            - --key-file=/etc/catalog-admin-tls/tls.key
            - --ca-cert-file=/etc/catalog-admin-tls/ca.crt
            - --nats-secure=false
            - --nats-client-group=catalog-admin
            - --nats-cluster-id=eleanor-stan

It would be handy to have the ability to define commands and args that will be used for the container. A list of commands run in order and a list of arguments run in order.

Installation documentation clarifications

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The installation guide is not complete. One cannot simply follow the instructions.
There are missing or conflicting instructions

Describe the solution you'd like
Explanation of the type of things that would need to be changed in the values

Customise the Ahoy installation by editing the values in values-k8s.yaml.
Example value files available at: https://github.com/lsdopen/charts/tree/master/charts/ahoy

Describe the solution you'd like
Clarify what is installed with Ahoy, versus what needs to be separately installed:

Ahoy makes use of Git, ArgoCD and Sealed Secrets to manage releases to clusters. These need to be installed and setup before you'll be able to manage releases.

Does the above mean that Ahoy will install and deploy Git and ArgoCD and Sealed-Secrets? or must users first have all of those.

Additional documentation steps is needed.

emptyDir volumes

As a user/env manager I need to be able to define/use emptyDIr volumes

I'd like a menu item added to the dropdown for volume type.
To add emptyDir
along with the existing "Secret" and "Persistent Volume" options
image

Screenshot above

Resulting object could then have:

      volumes:
      - name: secret-volume
        secret:
          defaultMode: 420
          secretName: finance-db-password
      - emptyDir: {}
        name: rules-volume-tenant-2
      - emptyDir: {}
        name: rules-volume-tenant-103
      - emptyDir: {}
        name: rules-volume-tenant-27

Unable to delete applications

I wanted to clear out everything I had setup on the Ahoy instance.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Delete releases.
  2. Delete environments.
  3. Attempt to delete applications.
  4. See error (foreign key constraint)

Expected behavior
That the application would delete.

Shared configmaps

We have an app that shares a secret with multiple services (TLS) in this case. It would be useful to have global configmaps/secrets per environment or that allow applications in a release to reuse these.

Perhaps create a configmap or a secret in a release that you can then select and allocate in the application. From a YAML perspective it would look like this:

      volumes:
        - configMap:
            defaultMode: 420
            items:
              - key: rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem
                path: rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem
              - key: tls.key
                path: tls.key
              - key: tls.pem
                path: tls.pem
              - key: tls.crt
                path: tls.crt
              - key: ca.crt
                path: ca.crt
            name: tls-config
          name: catalog-admin-tls

and the volume mounts look like this:

          volumeMounts:
            - mountPath: /etc/catalog-admin-tls
              name: catalog-admin-tls

Multiple mount paths for configmaps and secrets

We have multiple configmaps (and would apply to secrets) that need to be mounted into separate locations.

Being able to define a path per "configuration files" would be handy but I can see the need to have a path that applies to a whole lot of configuration.

Potentially the option would be a list of configuration files each with a key (name) and value field list.

Ahoy server fails to run when installed from chart

Fails with this error:
org.springframework.boot.context.config.InvalidConfigDataPropertyException: Property 'spring.profiles.include' imported from location 'file [config/application-prod.properties]' is invalid in a profile specific resource

Affects from version: 0.8.0

Addition of log details from ahoy server

The application fails to deploy due to incorrect git credentials.

history shows a failure to deploy message, but not the root cause.

Inspecting the ahoy server pod did reveal the issue.

Import existing ArgoCD repo

Adding this as a place to discuss what would need to happen to even make this possible. It's not a hugely urgent thing but would be cool if it's possible. Maybe even if it's an Ahoy managed Argo that you want to set up with a different release of Ahoy (for whatever reason).

Removing the application route doesn’t stop an ingress from being created

Describe the bug
When a release is currently deployed with route hostname and therefore an ingress, if you want to remove the ingress and do so by removing the host and saving the environment config, the ingress remains with a blank/missing host.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. With a deployed release that has an application with a route hostname. Observe that the ingress exists and host exists
  2. Open environment config and blank out the route hostname, minimise the route category and save
  3. Redeploy
  4. Observe that the ingress remains; but host is not missing

Expected behavior
The ingress should be removed.

This is probably also true for a new deployment with the blank route hostname; i.e. one that was set and then removed
