Hi,
I was wondering is there any video blogs about remote job? Maybe some developers who working remote have video blog or podcast or even maybe blog with nice photos?
Sory if questions was asked but I didnt see any similar question.
ps. pls add this link to video section if any one have some free time(I dont have it now)
RedDotRuby 2015 - Working Remotely as a Junior Developer by Laura Eck - nice overview of remote working for junior developer.
I find that job search can be deeply different, depending on the job being full or part time. Most sites for remote jobs just assume that one is going to look for a full time position. If i am looking for a remote job as a contractor on Angelist, for example, it will be easier for me to get relevant results selecting "contractor" first, and then checking for "remote ok", rather than the other way around.
Did you have a similar experience? Do you think that it makes sense to split the job section between "contractor" and "full time"?
DataStax delivers Apache Cassandra™ in a database platform that meets the performance and availability demands of Internet-of-things (IoT), Web, and Mobile applications. It gives enterprises a secure, fast, always-on database that remains operationally simple when scaled in a single datacenter or across multiple datacenters and clouds.
How to structure companies list? There is an example of a company that doesn't have a career page #61
I decided to link to careers page since there is a place where remote work is described.
Remote Jobs DESK is also an awesome platform for remote jobs, where you can find remote jobs according to your country or anywhere else. Here is a link to this remote platform.
@waldyrious had an excellent idea to make a badge similar to http://shields.io/. Here is my take on it.
Ribbon with markup http://lukasz-madon.github.io/awesome-remote-job/
This repo seems to miss a license. You could use https://github.com/sindresorhus/awesome#license as inspiration.
I don't think that you can judge objectively whether your own app or site is awesome. We get a lot of self posts, and I feel weird merging them. I want to add a line to the contribute saying don't self-post your own product. What do you think, @lukasz-madon?
You can add coveralls.io in companies list with remote DNA
This query http://careers.stackoverflow.com/companies?searchTerm=&location=&allowsremote=true
return companies that allows remote working. Should we merge this or add it to list?
I wanted to add a reference to a curated list that I started sometime back.
I'm not sure which heading I should add that!
While it isn't specifically about remote working, more about relocation, it seems close enough that I thought I'd ask.
Hi,
We keep a list of companies offering remote jobs in Spain (so Spanish people can work there with a full-time contract; working for foreign companies remotely has significant issues) at:
https://github.com/remote-es/remotes
I'm not entirely sure which category should this be added to- or even if it fits the repo. If you give me some pointers I can send a PR.
Cheers,
Álex
I discovered ossjobs.dev just a few days ago. It list jobs from open source startups.
People can find remote jobs from https://jobs.github.com/ job board by filtering location "Anywhere/Remote"
Nonprofit Remote - A place where remote workers, volunteers, and nonprofits connect.
This link has a majority, if not all, jobs hidden behind a $7/month paywall requring sign-in. This validates the first contributing rule. Please consider removing.
"""
"""
Please consider adding https://Reworkin.com as job board / community / aggregator for co-working spaces.
Is there content that overlaps or it's poor quality?
Hey Lukasz; tried your email from your GitHub profile, and it bounced. There's a few open PRs - do you need help maintaining this list?
The builds are failing due to some of the previous dead links.
Atleast, the below PRs failed because of this:
#643
#644
#645
Here is the one of the snapshot of the build errors:
https://travis-ci.org/github/lukasz-madon/awesome-remote-job/builds/684529004
I manually checked, the links mentioned in the build snapshot are really dead.
Please let me know, if I should raise a new PR to add kaamwork or any additional step required.
Thanks!
I made an example page with job posts @waldyrious @brajeshwar
http://lukasz-madon.github.io/awesome-remote-job/
It uses AngularJS to talk to KimonoLabs scraping api. I welcome any suggestions.
Can we just remove them all, and stop accepting new ones? It would solve the quality problems for PRs we keep getting, @lukasz-madon.
codementor.io is also an awesome platform for the remote job.
Given address http://railsdog.com shows GoDaddy's parking page. Their last tweet (https://twitter.com/railsdog) is from October 2015. Should be entry 75 deleted or perhaps moved into a new section called 'inactive companies'?
Not sure what category it will go: https://www.fiverr.com/
Maybe: Companies with "remote DNA"

I am very sorry, I have created bug in wrong project and cannot delete it. Could you please be so kind to delete it. Thank you.
It is a very complicate subject especially if you don't spend 183+ days in the same country. As such it would be good to have guidelines on where and how to pay taxes.
It would be good to have a list of convenient SIM cards/contracts providing a reasonably fast and cheap internet connection sorted by country.
maybe it is better to also cite the preferred location for the applicant. for example:
Mistake! Sorry 🤦🏾♀️
Gotta write a python script the gets the companies from the spreadsheet, pick what is missing and updates the README.
There should be a way to differentiate if a job is remote within a country or remote internationally. I propose globally defining flags for those and adding the flags next to each company name. The other option is to allow only international jobs. Thoughts?
I find it really tough to review submissions from people who work at, or who have made their product. I'd like to limit contributions to everything except for the "Remote DNA" section to people who haven't written the link they're submitting. I think it'll make reviews easier, and submissions more awesome.
We all love what we have made, and it's hard to tell a maker that you don't think their idea is awesome (whatever awesome means). I think it's important to have discretion, though, or else this list isn't useful.
Thoughts?
Crosscheck companies from this medium article:
It's possible there are a few that aren't here, and this is good information. Alternatively, just add this link.
I would do this, but I don't have time today. If anyone wants to grab it, that would be awesome.

When building jobs scraper http://lukasz-madon.github.io/awesome-remote-job/ an idea came to my mind.
Building scraper is a daunting task. They will break quite often and they are slow. The solution to this is structured data. Json is great format for remote job offers: There are quite a few benefits:
You can automate posting to multiple job boards
Move easily the data between systems
Have dead simple filter for incompetent people e.g. https://github.com/lukasz-madon/hackers-job-apply
No more scrapers
Here is my attempt for a unified format https://github.com/lukasz-madon/json-job
The part of the Companies with "remote DNA" should sort according to different countries. Yes, it is remote, but it is also a part for the law and contracts to search for a company in different countries.
What do you think, is it helpful?
