The Android port of the Frozen Bubble game. Developed with SDK v21.1.0, using API level 4 (version 1.6 - Donut). The code is based on the Java version of Frozen Bubble created by Glenn Sanson. The original Frozen Bubble was created by Guillaume Cottenceau (programming), Alexis Younes and Amaury Amblard-Ladurantie (artwork) and Matthias Le Bidan (soundtrack). The Android port was initially created by Pawel Aleksander Fedorynski, with additional development provided by Eric Fortin. This code is distributed under the GNU General Public License. Hi!
Is bad enough that the game ends without any "prize" to the player, and restart
from the first level.
I would like to apply a dialog when the player finishes the game (something
like: "Congratulations and thanks for playing Frozen Bubble"). Where should I
put it in code?

I'm trying to play the game on a rooted NOOKcolor which doesn't have a
keyboard. While the touchscreen works well to aim the bubbles, tapping in the
area above to fire bubbles makes for awkward gameplay. Adding a fire button in
the lower right and/or lower left would make the game quite enjoyable to play
on all android tablets.
A menu button would also be nice but that's particular to the NOOKcolor since
it isn't sold as a general purpose android tablet so doesn't have the minimal
set of menu/back/home keys.

https://code.google.com/p/frozenbubbleandroid/source/checkout
states that in order to check out the project anonymously you must do:
http://frozenbubbleandroid.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
frozenbubbleandroid-read-only
This is not working because there's no "trunk" directory. Please add a note
somewhere to let people know that this is the way to anonymously check out:

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Pause the game (by using the on/off button for example)
2. Resume the game (by touching the screen)
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The game should only resume with the 'shoot' timer in the correct state. For
now, when i resume the game, the ball is immediatly shot.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
3.3 (Android 4.1.2)

I did an update and I don't like what I get at all.
I want the same game as before, without the new annoying things like useless
black screen between levels, music (who want to ear that anyway).
And the most important, let the balls behave as they did! This looks like it is
another game, and has become worse!
Now it looks like someone in your team decided to spoil the game experience.
I searched the web for the original version but didn't find it!

The application asks for permissions it doesn't need, specification reading
phone state and identity, and access to the SD card. These are not explicitly
requested by the application, but added by the Android OS for compatibility.
You can fix this by just changing:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="2" />
to:
<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="2" android:targetSdkVersion=4" />
in AndroidManifest.xml, with no unwanted side-effects.

I'm using the latest version of Android Studio to compile the project (Android
Studio is an IDE that was released recently based IntelliJIDEA and endorsed by
Google) and it's configured by default to have the compiler use UTF-8 to
process the source code. That causes the compilation error "java: unmappable
character for encoding UTF-8" on every file that has the following header (the
offending character seems to be the copyright sign):
Copyright 2000-2003 Guillaume Cottenceau.

How do you change the code to auto aim and shoot a bubble on touch event instead of manually adjusting the aimer then shooting?

The game won and game lost banners are getting continually
added to the screen in Player vs. CPU game mode after the game is completed.
This bug is fixed in a derivative version of Frozen Bubble. Refer to the
following software revision for details of the fix:
https://code.google.com/p/frozenbubbleplus/source/detail?r=255
Essentially, the endOfGame flag is checked prior to adding the banners to the
sprite list, and then the endOfGame flag is set afterwards to prevent repeat
additions.

I'd like to bring your attention to the following app, which seems to be a
proprietary derivative of frozenbubbleandroid:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=us.can0p.shootdinosaureggs
Everything appears to be the same except that some graphics has been replaced
and an ad has been added. No source code is provided and neither is
acknowledgement of the original author.
This is the developer's email as shown on the app's page: [email protected]
