Wine Dependencies For Ubuntu missing a step
When installing 18.04, the recommended fix for 'unmet dependencies' has the same problem.
Easiest fix of this is too install libfaudio0 (both 64-bit and 32-bit) version which then allows the user to install winehq correctly. Can confirm it works on 18.04 fresh install.
Shout out to andrew.46 on askubuntu: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1145473/how-do-i-install-libfaudio0

Diablo Immortal will not launch with default configuration
Tested this today and it worked as a fix for Diablo Immortal
In Lutris right click on Battlenet install, then click configure, check " show advanced option" go to runner option and put DXVK version to 1.10L and DXVK NVAPI 0.5.3
Update 01.08.23
in addition to the items above also change the runner to lutris-fshack-7.2-x86_64

Where is the Command?
"If you receive this error: The following packages have unmet dependencies, execute following command instead:" After that sentence, there should be a command, but there is none. Could you please fix that?
Overwatch crashes short after the round starts
I use the installer script on lutris and the games installs and opens fine, but the game just freezes short after a round starts.
OS: Pop_OS! 22.04
Hardware: AMD cpu 5700x and AMD gpu rx 6600.
All drivers up to date.
Logged out after launching Origin game
Installing a game will always use a Lutris provided version of Wine
Installing a game that uses Wine will always use the Lutris provided Wine, even if the Wine runner is set to use the system provided Wine.
Getting held packages error when following wine guide
I followed the wine guide (https://github.com/lutris/lutris/wiki/Wine-Dependencies) step by step (I'm on ubuntu 18.04 btw), but when I did
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable
then I got The following packages have unmet dependencies
, just like it says i the guide you might. So I followed up with
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-stable wine-stable wine-stable-i386 wine-stable-amd64
and
sudo apt-get install libgnutls30:i386 libldap-2.4-2:i386 libgpg-error0:i386 libxml2:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 libfreetype6:i386 libdbus-1-3:i386 libsqlite3-0:i386
as the guide suggests. And now all seems to be fundamentally broken. I tried removing all packages and start over to the best of my abilities, but regardless of what I try I now always get
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
wine-stable : Depends: wine-stable-i386 (= 5.0.0~bionic)
Depends: wine-stable-amd64 (= 5.0.0~bionic) but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Any suggestions?

InstallingDrivers.md comet lake
Hi!
I wondered how the vulkan support of my comet lake IGD of my hp elitebook 840 G7 is? It was not mentioned in the InstallingDrivers.md.. may you provide this information for an linux gaming newb? I have to say, I try to run D2R on it, but still without success (first tried on opensuse tumbleweed, and now with a fresh installation of kde neon). I always run into the black screen behavior no matter what I do.
Updated Manjaro Specific Documentation
In the Manjaro Forums I took the liberty of creating a Lutris Guide specific for Manjaro and made changes according to forum members' comments:
https://forum.manjaro.org/t/manjaro-specific-lutris-install-guide/143943/
Please feel free to use it to update your own documentation, or comment on it.
Origin.exe not responding on login window when DXVK enabled
As the title says. Installed Origin just a few minutes ago on Pop_OS 21.10 (nvidia). However after launching the login prompt would just be "transparent" as a took on whatever was under it and in few seconds origin.exe is not responding would appear. After disabling DXVK in the config tab it works as intended.
Might be a good idea to add it to the wiki article.
Lutris not launching on new install of Pop!_OS 20.10
I have used Lutris no problem on Manjaro, Feren, and a previous install of Pop but this time Lutris will not launch. I have tried installing through the Pop Shop and through the regular 'sudo apt install lutris' command in terminal. Launching Lutris via terminal gives me this...
Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/games/lutris", line 54, in <module> from lutris.gui.application import Application # pylint: disable=no-name-in-module File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/application.py", line 53, in <module> from .lutriswindow import LutrisWindow File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/lutriswindow.py", line 26, in <module> from lutris.gui.widgets.sidebar import LutrisSidebar File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/gui/widgets/sidebar.py", line 6, in <module> from lutris import platforms, runners, services File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/platforms.py", line 19, in <module> _init_platforms() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/platforms.py", line 14, in _init_platforms runner = runners.import_runner(runner_name)() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/runners/wine.py", line 229, in __init__ "default": dxvk.DXVKManager().version, File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 56, in version return self.versions[0] File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 45, in versions self._versions = self.load_dxvk_versions() File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/lutris/util/wine/dxvk.py", line 65, in load_dxvk_versions with open(versions_path, "r") as dxvk_version_file: FileNotFoundError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/home/adamkucharik/.local/share/lutris/runtime/dxvk/dxvk_versions.json'
From I can tell it seems like I am missing something that, for whatever reason, the install of Lutris did not provide. I have already enabled the repositories found here (https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/WineDependencies.md) and I still get the same wall of text in terminal.
Battle.net - We couldn't access a folder. This is usually because you're not logged in as administrator
I successfully installed Battle.net on Ubuntu 22.10 using Lutris and WINE, and pointed Battle.net to my Overwatch 2 install, located on a separate drive whose filesystem is btrfs. Battle.net needs to update this game, however when I click "Update", an error is spat out, saying "We couldn't access a folder. This is usually because you're not logged in as an administrator".
I have rwx set on all files in the drive that Overwatch 2 is located in. Is there any remedy to this? If not, I have Ubuntu dualbooted alongsides Windows 10, where I also have a Battle.net install for playing Warzone 2 (because kernel-level anticheat does not work on Linux) - would I instead be able to remedy this problem by updating Overwatch 2 in Windows?
How do I uninstall?
What commands do I use to uninstall the drivers?
Battle Net App Fails to Launch After Initial Install
System Specs:
Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS 64bit X11
AMD® Ryzen 5 3600 6-core processor × 12
NVIDIA Corporation GA102 [GeForce RTX 3080]
Latest Nvidia Driver at the time of this writing is 525, however I am running 515. 525 doesnt seem to work correctly not sure why.
If I install Battle Net app the install works fine. I can even login and download games with no issues. After exiting the battle net app and trying to launch with lutris it tells me that it is "Launching" sometimes it freezes and I have to terminate the pid at the terminal other times I can right click and select stop and it allow me to retry launching. However it never actually launches the app.
For me to get the app to launch I had to "Enable NVIDIA Prime Render Offload" in the Configure Settings under "System Options" Tab.
Not sure if there is something else thats could be the issue. Never had an issue with previous version of Ubuntu and Lutris.

Basically the title.
I'm using the overwatch install script and running the game with an RX 580 and a R7 1700X. I'm also running the latest stable kernel on Debian 10.

Battle.net - StarCraft Brood War input lag
I have experienced a slight input lag, while playing StarCraft Brood War. After some experiments it seems to be caused by DXVK enabled by default. I have a Dell latitude laptop with i5 8350u, 16 GB RAM, and SSD running Manjaro Xfce with 6.0.8 kernel version. Since other titles may require, or may run better with DXVK enabled, is there any way, to note this, for anyone who might experience the same with this game?
(If I am at the wrong place, please, point me to the right direction)

Hello!
im currently trying to install nvidia-packages to my fresh system with command
sudo pacman -S nvidia-dkms nvidia-utils lib32-nvidia-utils nvidia-settings vulkan-icd-loader lib32-vulkan-icd-loader

I have added /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist to config file as you hinted.

Vulkan installation instructions missing a step
https://github.com/lutris/lutris/wiki/Installing-drivers#amd--intel says that you can install the i386
version of a package immediately after enabling it as a foreign architecture in dpkg
, but on my system (admittedly I'm on Debian, not Ubuntu), I needed an apt update
for my machine to discover the i386
versions of the various driver packages.
I'd send a PR but apparently GH doesn't support PRs to wikis.
Origin game install directory
Hello
I respect the complexities involved with Origin in Linux but I thought I'd check none the less. When installing a game in Origin, I'm not sure how to identify exactly where that game will be installed. The options available to check or decide are a little limited. For example, I can't read the path shown in the text box, and the Change Location button takes me to an explorer dialogue that doesn't appear to work (link).
After saying all that, if I have to accept the default (whatever that may be), I guess I'm good.
Origin will not complete install
Lutris runs through the process, origin opens, let's me log in, and runs fine. however lutris continues to run in the backround and will never complete. Just repeating message as follows:
0058:fixme:nsi:ipv6_forward_enumerate_all not implemented
0058:fixme:nsi:ipv6_forward_enumerate_all not implemented
0058:fixme:nsi:ipv6_forward_enumerate_all not implemented
0058:fixme:nsi:ipv6_forward_enumerate_all not implemented
030c:fixme:netprofm:list_manager_GetConnectivity 00A49DB0, 0090BCD4
I can't find any documentation for this so guidance requested. thank you.
Origin page Wiki improvement
I want to install a Origin game(Titanfall 2) with Lutris on the Lutris page it tells me to read this Lutris wiki page first however after reading the page I was searching for Origin to install it and was not sure if I should run it with wine or whatever until I found out that I can "simply" install it from Lutris.
Maybe I just dont noticed the Lutris Origin link on the wiki page or so but I would recommend adding this link: https://lutris.net/games/origin to the Origin Wiki page(maybe with some instructions and recommendations, if necessary). Thats all

I'm not able to install Blizzard Battlenet on PopOS 22.04
Despite creating the wine prefix, after downloading the install executable, the process gets stuck when it needs to download an update and gets stuck and doesn't advance the installation. The same happens when I try to install by overwatch script.
the instructions have five different sections for Nvidia this is confusing
https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/InstallingDrivers.md
Ok...maybe I'm just tired. But this page is confusing. There are four or five different sets of instructions for NVIDIA. Am I supposed to follow each one in order? If so, why not number them under each other in steps (1-4)?
Black Screen when loading the game from battle.net launcher
After clicking on play world of warcraft from the battle.net launcher a black screen appears with the world of Warcraft glove cursor. The glove cursor disappears after about 2 seconds.
The suggested fix is disable streaming mode. Streaming mode does not appear as a setting as it used to in battle.net WoW setting options.
So, if you have time to help get this to work, that would be appreciated.
Origin fails to launch after closing it.
I was able to download all 70GB of Battlefield 4 but then Origin doesn't launch afterwards.
Cookies are disabled error
Hello! In the recent install script I get in the end on the login window the message that cookies are disabled. Login is not possible. During installation in the step "dont try to login because lutris will close the window automatically". The window never was closed, so I closed it manually. Gecko was installed when I first launched the app.

Issues with battle.net
Since yesterday, I am unable to run battle.net with DXVK.
This is the installer script: https://lutris.net/games/battlenet/
The application will either freeze entirely upon launch (wine 5.22) or it will crash soon after launching (wine 5.21 and other).
The application (battle.net launcher) will run fine, if I disable DXVK, but the performance within the game will make it unplayable
I've changed from 20.04 LTS to 20.10 and reinstalled the game (battle.net), but nothing changed.

clarify purpose of lutrix-fshack wine versions under WineBuilds.md
Hey all,
It appears that the WineBuilds.md page https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/WineBuilds.md doesn't make any mention of the lutrix-fshack.x.y-z options under "Manage wine versions" in the Lutris UI; a brief description would be most welcome.
Thanks for the great project!

Err:6 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kisak/kisak-mesa/ubuntu jammy Release, 404 Not Found [IP: 2001:67c:1560:8008::19 80], E: The repository 'http://ppa.launchpad.net/kisak/kisak-mesa/ubuntu jammy Release' does not have a Release file. (on a fresh install of MX Linux 21 KDE from the Final sourceforge directory)
I get the following (after sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kisak/kisak-mesa && sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386 && sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade && sudo apt install libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers:i386
):
The goal of this PPA is to provide the latest point release of Mesa plus select non-invasive early backports. Deviations from upstream packages are listed on the package details page.
--- Support status ---
Bionic (18.04) - Supported (Please use the HWE X and kernel or equivalent)
Focal (20.04) - Supported
Hirsute (21.04) - Supported
Impish (21.10) - Preliminary Support (not tested locally)
--- Is this PPA stable? ---
Short answer: Mostly.
Long answer: Compared to bleeding edge mesa PPAs, there is a much lower chance of complications, but as Ubuntu LTS releases age, the odds of unexpected interactions between older kernels / compilers / X increases with each major release. Anomalies are inevitable the further the host system gets from the configuration active mesa developers use on a daily basis. If you value stability over support, https://launchpad.net/~kisak/+archive/ubuntu/turtle/ is available as an alternative.
In the event that there is a major issue with new mesa on an older Ubuntu LTS and the mesa devs are not interested in triaging the issue, then the Ubuntu LTS release will be dropped from this PPA and the last release pushed to kisak-mesa stable will be frozen.
--- Package status ---
llvm - Following latest point release supported by mesa (On hold - blocked by build farm i386 whitelist)
mesa - Following latest point release
libclc - Obsolete, now provided by llvm packaging
libdrm - Updating as needed for mesa
--- Removal ---
It's strongly recommended to remove this PPA before upgrading to a newer Ubuntu release or using another mesa PPA.
sudo apt install ppa-purge
sudo ppa-purge ppa:kisak/kisak-mesa
Note: Using ppa-purge with Ubuntu derivatives needs to include -d <based_on_name> to work safely. For example, Linux Mint 20 is based on Ubuntu Focal, so that would make it:
sudo ppa-purge -d focal ppa:kisak/kisak-mesa
--- Donations ---
I can't accept donations and any random donation site account is a scam. If you have some extra money burning a hole in your pocket, please consider sending it to a charity of your choice (for the poors, animals, whatever else you may think it might need it), then send Oibaf a note that I stole the suggestion from his PPA.

Missing documentation in WineDependencies.md
in docs/WineDependencies.md there is a missing command in line 43, where it states:
"If you receive this error: The following packages have unmet dependencies
, execute following command instead:"
But the actual command is missing.
Could you make meta-packages?
The meta packages would keep the dependecy list update (like replacing nvidia for nvidia-dkm), and make the list of packages explicitly installed more readable.
Following the instructions for installing drivers leads to the OS stopping initializing correctly.
I followed the instructions in https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/InstallingDrivers.md , and this led to my Mint 19.3 64bit OS stopping fully initializing. My computer is an Acer Aspire 7, which comes with a Geforce GTX 1050 TI, so it is Vulkan-capable.
To be more clear, upon the OS restart, the video card driver won't be loaded anymore, so I get a blank screen, and the OS won't reach the login screen. Maybe this is not the best place to look for help on this, but I thought I'd leave a message here in any case, since the instructions were found here.
Cannot install Battle.net on Pop!_OS 22.04
Hello!
I have just installed fresh POP!_OS 22.04 to my computer and now I'm at the state where I would like to install battle.net(https://lutris.net/games/battlenet/) via lutris. I have installed dependencies according to documentary.
Now when trying to install battle.net application to lutris it self, I get following error every time :
Failed to retrieve Wine (lutris-GE-Proton7-16-x86_64) information
On Lutris settings/Runners, there is no Wine version for lutris-GE-Proton7-16 available on my system(even to download).
How to continue with this matter?
Thanks
InstallingDrivers.md Instructions for Debian 11
The InstallingDrivers.md Doesn't provide instructions for Debian 11 installation, The InstallingDrivers.md only provides instructions for Ubuntu, Debian 11 does not work with the provided PPA's and Etc, Any help to install the drivers to Debian 11 Bullseye would be great. Thanks
InstallingDrivers.md: Command to install nvidia-specific tools fails
When I run the mentioned command for nvidia "Proprietary driver and support for Vulkan", it fails on a non-existing package "nvidia-settings". Can I just leave it out or do I need to replace it with another package? If so could you please update the information in the documentation accordingly?
I'm on an up-to-date Manjaro install.
Thanks in regard
Mesa Repository - Debian Testing
Is it really necesary to add the Mesa PPA on Debian Testing? Or is Testing sufficiently up-to-date?
WIKI/DOCUMENTATION: Wanting to contribute
Hello, I want to contribute for the Lutris wiki, but I have seen a lot of problems that I can't just create a merge request get over with. The Installing drivers section is just terribly made in my opinion, and I would like to know if it can be changed to "Installing Lutris" or "Installing" so I can easily work on the documentation. I am aware that there is a tutorial in the home page, but I feel like it is good to make it easy and coherent rather than make people switch websites.
I saw CONTRIBUTING.md, and it also does not tell you any information about documentations, which is what I want to contribute for. since the documentations for Lutris are in my opinion... bad.
Overwatch on Btrfs doesn't work correctly
This link: https://github.com/lutris/docs/blob/master/Overwatch.md says:
Note: The game won't work correctly if it was installed on an NTFS or BTRFS partition. Please choose an Ext4 drive as destination instead.
Is there a bug report anywhere that expands on this? How does it manifest? What troubleshooting has been tried so far? All Fedora 33 desktop editions and spins will be moving to Btrfs by default. It'd be great to get this fixed if it's still a bug. Thanks.
Is there any way to bypass `Checking for runtime updates, please wait ...` at the first launch?
I live in Chian, so GitHub is very hard to access directly.
I tried to use some vpn in TUN mode, or just set the system proxy manually in the GUI system settings.
But none of them work, Lutris just cannot get any update.
Is there any way to manually install all the things Lutris needs?
I am using Lutris in SteamOS installed by Flathub.
overwatch2-caffe not on docs
overwatch2-caffe-7.18 wine release add new wine type, not mentioned in:
Suggestions on additons to the Wiki article on Overwatch
As already described in the game issues section of the article, sometimes the game does not open in the correct resolution. To fix that you have to reset the game on the fullscreen setting.
What the wiki does not mention however, is that if you are on fullscreen and you switch windows to another window the game will not lock the crosshair to the cursor again. Another issue I encountered was that if you switch the window to fullscreen, the audio output somehow gets changed to my graphics card system wide, that first happened after the newest Overwatch update I installed (2019-11-20, version 1.42.0.0.63869).
This sounds pretty bad, but after all you can work around it pretty easily. Just set the window to borderless fullscreen and all issues are resolved. There is only one problem coming with this solution: I was not able to tab out of the game anymore. If you have a second screen, this is probably not as big as an issue.
I tested this on Ubuntu 19.10 (Gnome), using a nvidia 1060.
Click on Play and nothing happens Origin
I tried to play two games, FIFA 20 and SimCity and both I click on play, the save have sync normally then the game doesn't start.
Sorry for bad english
