What about using a non-root path for convenience?
Like the /sdcard/certs/ or user-provided?
As described in #2, file permissions of added certificates aren't set to 644 when copied to system, so if they have the default android file permissions, or are unreadable for others for other reasons, they are not properly recognised.
Seems like it's not working on A14. The file is mounted correctly but the system still doesn't seem to trust the cert.
