json's Introduction

JSON

Magisk Manager JSON file generation for the repository list

Why?

Magisk Manager custom repositories work by providing a JSON file with information about each of the available modules, as opposed to providing a GitHub URL. This repository is responsible for keeping the JSON file updated, and thereby keeping the Magisk Manager repostory list updated.

How?

A simple Python script called generate.py takes an access token as an input, and prints a the JSON format for the Alt-Repo. We use a GitHub Action to take care of the commit process to this repository.

json's Issues

JSON formatting

Would it be possible to format the modules.json file instead of having it all in one line or would it break the custom repo logic?

It's time to move on

Hey guys,

it's time to move on and migrate to a new repo format. FoxMMM is dead and I see not nothing good in the upcoming AMM update โ€” v3, probably not open source anymore.

@Atrate, currently is the repo from MMAR not browsable in MMRL (commit)

The new (beta) MRepo repo format lacks of good features like icon, readme, antifeatures and many more. I've forked the magisk-repo-util long time ago and proved a good usage in MMRL.

I would continue to migrate repositories to here and then add them to the repo โ€” even when you can add externals, keeping them in this repo offers a better maintenance.

Any objections? Let me know!
