Sometimes I find the content of the post itself to be more useful than a comment on the post. Wanted to know if you saw any value in adding a Send to Readwise button to create to:

• get post contents of the post description
• Source URL would be root of comment thread ex: https://old.reddit.com/r/Zettelkasten/comments/wz80rv/zk_is_unique_for_everyone/

If there is not a description, then same thing as above, but instead of a description. Would just use a placeholder text for notes to be taken.

This is the extension I've been looking for! Any possibility you can create a firefox add-on as well? I just switched to Chrome just to use this, but I'd much prefer to use firefox.

Noticed that you were re-writing this plugin to make it more extensible for various import sources. Thought this might be a good time to ask about extending different target for this data as well 🙂

Wanted to see what your thoughts are on potentially creating a new reader document for each permalink thread (Send to Readwise Reader). I think this would be advantageous for comments I'd like to have more control over seeing next. Something I want to review sooner than later.

I've confirmed the "Send to readwise" button shows up on Chrome. It doesn't appear in firefox however.

Confirmed working for HackerNews on firefox.

I have not found a trend yet, but I've noticed that sometimes the button is not availalable:

Similar to how Readwise handle's Twitter threads with multiple consecutive posts:

• Save this Twitter thread to Reader for example to illustrate what I mean

Spec

Helpful to have the context of what others said about what you saved. So instead of stitching together multi-post thread like Twitter. Stitch together most upvoted comments to respective Post or Comment.

Which is why I feel it should handled accordingly based on type. for example, Saving an entire Post pulls post description and perhaps top 3 comments with 1-2 (configurable) comments on each of those comments.

But if a Comment was shared with Readwise specifically. Description of this comment would become the post, and same thread configuration would apply.
