matrix-creator-quickstart's Issues

Running test_driver_info.js returns nothing

After following the installation steps and getting no errors, I run:

node test_driver_info.js

There is no output at all, it just shows a blank cursos and that's it.

What am I missing?

npm package of zmq on MAC

when execute the test for javascript of malos in a MAC pc, and runs npm install the package of zmq shows this error:

gyp: Call to 'pkg-config libzmq --libs' returned exit status 127. while trying to load binding.gyp

Can not connect to Matrix Voice

I finally installed the Matrix Voice board on my RaspberryPi 3 B on Raspian Stretch Light 2018-04-18 following this guides:

https://matrix-io.github.io/matrix-documentation/matrix-os/getting-started/installation/
https://www.hackster.io/ruchir1674/registration-and-installation-of-matrix-os-110057

Successfully created an account and registered the device.
When I now start the service on RPi with: node index.js
I get this:

Environment Selected: production
Loading... device
Loading... event
Loading... service
Not using device data from db, using MATRIX_DEVICE_ID and MATRIX_DEVICE_SECRET instead!
Starting as device: d803a860xxxx
hb: sen> [] svc> []
hb: sen> [] svc> []
hb: sen> [] svc> []

On the Ubuntu 17.10 Computer which is in the same network, when I make: matrix list devices

I get:

Device ID │ Name │ Description │ ok │ Last Online │
│ d803a860xxxx │ facinghistory │ facinghistory │ no │ 48 years ago

So my device seems to be not ok and it looks like it was never online.
I am also not able to install any app:

matrix install HelloWorld
 ____ | Installing  HelloWorld  ==>  d803a860xxxx
⣽
⇒ Installing HelloWorld with policy:
 Installation progress:
Awaiting installation on Device...
Unable to reach device, the application will be installed as soon as your device is available

Can someone give me some advice on how to bring my Matrix device online and get connected to it?
Thanks for any help!

Note: last 4 digits of the device ID changed to xxxx

Recorded Microphone audio stream is Silent in Channel 0

Hi,
Please help me with the below issue,
I am using Matrix Creator along with Raspi3 [Jessie Pixel]

When i was trying to run the Microphone test recorder , i was getting 8 Audio streams as RAW and after converting them to WAC when i tried to play the Channel 0 Audio track using aplay it was total Silent.

All the other wav tracks were having noises like "GRRR" . Am i missing something here ?

  1. Is there any steps i need to do with ALSA Mixer ?
  2. Should i need to replace any file configurations in Raspbian to map the Microphones..

I really think that the Documentation can be little improved and i will also be happy to contribute on the Documentation if i was able to success fully run this sample.

Kindly help me, since i am gonna procure more devices based upon this experiment, thanks

Regards
JK

Using Matrix creater for Measuring Impulse Response in a room with sweep signal

I want to use matrix creator for measuring impulse responses, but the response is not correct. I record the same signal at the same time with Rode Omnidirectional microphone and that is working perfectly fine. When I try with Matrix Creator recording then output impulse response does not make any sense. Is there any processing inside (e.g echo cancellation) causing the problem.

Microphone array documentation

Could you please add information/documentation on how the microphone array works. Are the 8 channels available as "raw data" in the Raspberry Pi? What is the audio interface (I2S) ?

Thanks!

[SOLVED] 3. HAL Everloop LED Array And IMU

Ive check and re-check many times and I think I followed correctly the steps but I was unable to get the demos/everloop_demo work. No led get lighted

When I run demos/arc_demo I get random light (blue, red, green, white) on random upper LED and almost all the LED on the bottom part are off.
When I do ctrl c after demos/arc_demo the LED lighten stay on until I reboot

Im on a RaspberryPi 3 Model B (ssh remote control with Macbook Air and wifi) - All packages are update - The small SAM3 MCU LED flash every 1s - SPI enabled

Failed to flash the MCU. RGB-LEDs and Mic on the FPGA work fine.

After going through the quickstart guide nearly everything worked fine. But I was not able to get sensor data. I was trying to flash the sam3 controller but no chance. This is what happens while trying to flash the mcu on the Pi2 and Pi3.

root@raspberrypi:/usr/share/admobilize/matrix-creator# ./sam3-program.bash

I bet it´s a hardware malfunction.
And yes, the Pi war powered by a 5V 2A power supply.

Any ideas guys ?

[SOLVED] sam3mcu programming - echo 18 > /sys/class/gpio/export

When I follow the echo list you provide (as root and/or sudo) I get for the first line :

echo 18 > /sys/class/gpio/export
bash: echo: writing error : Peripheral or occupied ressource

My OS language is in French maybe my translation is imprecise.
bash: echo: erreur d'écriture : Périphérique ou ressource occupé

The others lines don't send any error and when I enter : sudo openocd -f cfg/sam3s.cfg
I get almost the same "Example output" as you :

Flashing succeeded if you get the line "wrote 38620 bytes from file blob/ch.bin to flash bank 0 at offset 0x00000000 in 1.256279s (30.021 KiB/s)"

My output :
wrote 33604 bytes from file blob/ch.bin to flash bank 0 at offset 0x00000000 in 1.135267s (28.906 KiB/s)

Should I get concerned about the echo 18 line or it's normal (acceptable) ?

Raspberry Pi 3 dies while running Malos Eye example

I am able to run the example query_demographics.js, but after a few seconds the raspberry crashes badly, and I have to hard reset it (unplug the cable). Also since I installed Malos, I have noticed that the raspberry struggles to do anything. It's a brand new Raspberry Pi 3, so it should work right?

Failed to start Program FPGA and SAM3 MCU

Hi,

After following the getting started instructions, I get the above message in the console logs, and the following systemctl --

Does anyone know what's going on? I'm using a Pi Model B+, and using the Raspbian Jessie Lite May 27th 2016 image

API/MXSS

Do you plan to realease the API and MXSS code, or is this supposed to be admobilize proprietary? Can't find the usage terms etc etc..

Haven't deep dived into it, but look like a bit out of scope for security, and so privacy.

broken links

After an update to the name of wiki pages there are a few broken links in the wiki.

Once pages receive a name it's hard to change it without updating the rest of the wiki.

Too sleepy to fix and finishing a document for tomorrow.

Support for Windows IoT Core

Hi there,

did anyone try addressing the sensors from within Windows IoT Core? Is that supported?

Node.js Documentation

Hi there,

The examples in the matrix os repo are for remote access only and for only a narrow set of functionality. How do I use Node.js directly to get data on the Pi itself?

Also, how do I get access to the NFC?

Regards
Andrew

The documentation is terrible

There are wiki entries that assume you've downloaded and are aware of other pieces of software that are never mentioned in the same wiki, there are instructions looping to other instructions over links that contradict each other, there are deb packages that may or may not overlap certain other compiled objects (impossible to know!) . There's the "getting started" which leads you to installing that CLI which eventually you find out, serves no purpose at this point but, hey!, you did spend time doing videos on that instead of covering the basics, like how to properly make the firmware work, and how to connect to each of the sensor component. This is not some "favor" you're doing your customers, if you release a hardware that is meant for the exact purpose of prototyping, then Documentation is a MUST, is not a kind gesture to your customers but your duty. I will copy and paste the response (or lack of it) here in well known forums; I purchased this product because I was in a hurry to create a prototype for which I could have asked acquaintances developing FPGAs; now my project is in serious danger because your board lacks the basic public knowledge-base for me to get on track with acceptable speed for someone who understands bash, python and C.

The matrix-creator repository installed by the script does not work.

From Raspbian Stretch on a Raspberry Pi 3, the mirror "deb http://packages.matrix.one/matrix-creator/ ./" will not be loaded by 'apt update' or 'apt-get update' because it does not contain a Release file at that path.

If I attempt to go directly in a web browser (on a different computer) to http://packages.matrix.one/matrix-creator/Release, I get this:

<Error>
<Code>AccessDenied</Code>
<Message>Access denied.</Message>
<Details>
Anonymous users does not have storage.objects.get access to packages.matrix.one/matrix-creator/Release.
</Details>
</Error>

I get a similar error trying to browse anywhere else on the packages.matrix.one domain.
