Ask questions about dynamic viewport generation

Hi matt:
I have used your code to generate a viewport for a single frame of images, but I have meet a problem with continuous dynamic viewport generation. As you answered earlier, the track file should be formatted, I set the first column of the track file to indicate the frame number, and the next three columns to indicate the head position, specifically yaw, pitch and roll. But after reading your code carefully, I found that your rotation matrix is 3x3. I don't quite understand the specific meaning of the rotation matrix, because many datasets use yaw, pitch and roll to indicate the head position.
Best wishes!

How to determine the 655362 positions on the sphere?

I am total agree with the idea of S-PSNR and L-PSNR described in "A Framework to Evaluate Omnidirectional Video Coding Schemes". But I am confused with how to determine the uniformly distribution on the sphere , e.g., the 655362 positions, when I see the implementation of the source code. Did any information, theories or references support the correctness of the distributation of those points?

Thank you very much.

Changing Viewport

Greetings,

If i have a file for head traces of a user watching 360 video (different viewport centers) of sampling rate 10 samples each second

How can i use your tool to generate the resulting video the user receives in the viewport ?
Does the TrackingFile should do this task or not ? and in any case what does the TrackingFile do and what should be the format of the data in the file ?

how to generate corresponding viewport content based on user track file

Hi Matt
I recently read your paper and found this code you provided, which helps me a lot. I have download some data sets about the user's head motion trajectory, one of which tracks user motion by recording the time point and the rotation angle of the corresponding pitch, yaw and roll. I would like to ask if I can generate the corresponding viewport through your code. Can you provide specific steps to generate a viewport?

some strange results of mapping equirectangle to view

When I use the software to map equirectangluar to view image, I found that:
./remap -i rect -o view -b 4096 -m 2048 -w 400 -h 400 -x 120 -y 120 -p 0 -l 075 -z 30 test.yuv test75.yuv

./remap -i rect -o view -b 4096 -m 2048 -w 400 -h 400 -x 120 -y 120 -p 0 -l 080 -z 30 test.yuv test80.yuv

the test75.yuv shares less in common with test80.yuv. The same phenonmon also appear between test95.yuv and test100.yuv.

Is there any bugs or I input wrong command?
