MUME-GUI

  • A graphical user interface for the popular MUD, MUlti-User's in Middle-Earth designed to make playing the game easier.
  • Will include graphical elements to keep track of thing in the game that normally are difficult to notice because of fast-moving text
  • Currently inludes a mostly working chat-log for chat channels in the game.

Design a state container for the UI

Design a state container in Lua for the UI, that will keep track of all of the information that would be useful for UI to track.

It must contain everything that is to be tracked to act as a single source of truth for the UI.

  • state container has object to store state for the room.
    • contains room name
    • contains room description
    • contains a list of room items
    • contains a list of room exits
  • state container has object to store state for the character.
  • state container has object to store state for the group the character is in.
  • state container has object to store state for the group the character is in.

Make the UI more modular

Separate part of the UI that keeps track of the state from how the UI displays this information.
