robotics-club-website's Issues

Nightmode switch works, but the CSS is broken

I formatted the CSS weird and I'm pretty sure I broke it. Could also be that there are two CSS files at work. If it's the latter, let me know and I can add a light mode.

Alerts pull from JSON and are editable

Similar to how bulletins were written, pull alerts from a JSON file. Then, display them.

Add editing, adding, and removing with admin discretion without having to mess with the JSON file.

Bulletins are submittable

Now that bulletins are readable from JSON files, make submitting them possible from admin control page.

Implement Messaging System

The messaging system would be an in-site, email-style messaging system. Anybody with an account can send another registered account email a message.

Messages will have author, recipient, subject, tag (i.e. admin sent, site-wide, etc.), and content. On received message, a notification pops up on the toolbar.

Implement it however you'd like, as long as messages cannot be accessed unless you're either the sender or receiver.

Bonus: Have an inbox where you can scroll through your previous messages.
Bonus 2x: Reply button and conversation chains.

To the obvious question of why not emails, emails often are very cluttered and often isn't related to robotics; as well, members need to go on the site to log in/check in for attendance every time they come to club, opposed to no real incentive to check email.

[PRIORITY] Process and Parse Attendance Data

Right now, there's already a framework of parsing basic attendance data, or basically how many people have been logged. Yet, there's a lot more we need:

  • Total People Logged
  • People logged per past time interval (Day, Week [optional], Month, Year)
  • Averages for statistics over time (i.e. average attendances per week)
  • Individual user lookup and statistics (i.e. last check in, average attendance per week, graph of logins over time)
  • Graphing features, namely averages and user vs. mean
  • Output everything to a .csv, or display everything on a table on a page

This needs to be completed ASAP, and definitely before exams start. This is key to keeping our site as a club-based site.

Good luck!
