vagrant-redis's Issues

DENIED Redis is running in protected mode

hi,
I'm trying to use the box from the host but get this error

(error) DENIED Redis is running in protected mode because protected mode is enabled, no bind address was specified, no authentication password is requested to clients. In this mode connections are only accepted from the loopback interface. If you want to connect from external computers to Redis you may adopt one of the following solutions: 1) Just disable protected mode sending the command 'CONFIG SET protected-mode no' from the loopback interface by connecting to Redis from the same host the server is running, however MAKE SURE Redis is not publicly accessible from internet if you do so. Use CONFIG REWRITE to make this change permanent. 2) Alternatively you can just disable the protected mode by editing the Redis configuration file, and setting the protected mode option to 'no', and then restarting the server. 3) If you started the server manually just for testing, restart it with the '--protected-mode no' option. 4) Setup a bind address or an authentication password. NOTE: You only need to do one of the above things in order for the server to start accepting connections from the outside.

any help please,
thanks

"Permission denied" error when init.d tries to start the service

Hi Mark,

I hope you'll forgive my newb question. I am getting the following error as the last step of "vagrant up":

==> default: /tmp/vagrant-shell: line 28: /etc/init.d/redis_6379: Permission denied

After logging in the box, the script has no executable permissions.

I've addressed this by running:
sudo chmod a+x /etc/init.d/redis_6379
sudo /etc/init.d/redis_6379 start

(Both commands needed to be run with sudo)

P.S. Thanks for sharing these scripts!

The box is an invalid state.

Hi,

I try to use your box, but I've this error message. I'm on Ubuntu (the last version), end vagrant 1.6.3 :

$ vagrant up
Bringing machine 'default' up with 'virtualbox' provider...
==> default: Importing base box 'precise64'...
==> default: Matching MAC address for NAT networking...
==> default: Setting the name of the VM: redis_default_1404807520236_64175
==> default: Fixed port collision for 22 => 2222. Now on port 2201.
==> default: Clearing any previously set network interfaces...
==> default: Preparing network interfaces based on configuration...

==> default: Forwarding ports...
default: 6379 => 6379 (adapter 1)
default: 22 => 2201 (adapter 1)
==> default: Running 'pre-boot' VM customizations...
==> default: Booting VM...
==> default: Waiting for machine to boot. This may take a few minutes...
The guest machine entered an invalid state while waiting for it
to boot. Valid states are 'starting, running'. The machine is in the
'poweroff' state. Please verify everything is configured
properly and try again.

If the provider you're using has a GUI that comes with it,
it is often helpful to open that and watch the machine, since the
GUI often has more helpful error messages than Vagrant can retrieve.
For example, if you're using VirtualBox, run vagrant up while the

VirtualBox GUI is open.

Can you help me ?
Thanks

Fabrice.
