Classmethods cannot access class instances but that's what we want for many class methods.

For now it seems most sensical to just remove classmethods alltogether.
The question is whether all non-modelling methods should be instance-methods such that all classes need an initialized instance or whether they should all be turned into staticmethod in which a class method can but does not need to be provided.

method doesn't show classes properly. possibly only when no groups are provided.
