kiota-serialization-json-php's Introduction

Kiota JSON Serialization Library for PHP

Build Status Latest Stable Version Coverage

The Json Serialization Library for PHP is the PHP JSON serialization library implementation.

A Kiota generated project will need a reference to a json serialization package to handle json payloads from an API endpoint.

Read more about Kiota here.

Using the Kiota JSON Serialization Library for PHP

run composer require microsoft/kiota-serialization-json or add the following to your composer.json file:

{
    "require": {
        "microsoft/kiota-serialization-json": "^1.0.1"
    }
}

kiota-serialization-json-php's Issues

Bad DateTimeOffset serialization format

I believe serialization of DateTime is wrong, because of the trailing Z in format.
RFC3339 already contains time offset, then Z conflicts with it.

JsonSerializationWriter::testWriteDateTimeOffsetValue() shows that expected output is like 2018-12-12T12:34:42+00:00Z.

But this format isn't accepted by MS Graph which fails saying :

{
    "error": {
        "code": "UnableToDeserializePostBody",
        "message": "were unable to deserialize "
    }
}

Of course if i remove the trailing, everything works.
Here's a demo with a calendar event payload.
Faulty fields are createdDateTime and lastModifiedDateTime

Get string value replaces cr/lf characters

The getStringValue() method replaces the carriage return / line feed characters with their string representation \r\n.
Since this actually mutates the original string you get another result than expected.

For e.g. we observed this when implementing the new msgraph-sdk-php (v2.2.0) for parsing e-mail contents or event contents. The content of these objects are transformed and contain the \r\n string values in stead of actually the newline characters.

public function getStringValue(): ?string {
    return $this->jsonNode !== null ? addcslashes(strval($this->jsonNode), "\\\r\n") : null;
}
