vscode-jupyter-cell-tags's Issues

Can't undo the creation of deletion of a tag.

In my previous issue, I mentioned that I accidentally deleted a tag. At that point, I wanted to bring it back, but I couldn't find a way. Same goes for if you create a new one now.

visualise cell tags

Thanks, for this, good start 🙏
However, its not so nice to use without anyway to visualise what tags are on each cell 😬

I'm picturing tags at the bottom of the cell:

Exclude extra files from published extension

ms-toolsai.vscode-jupyter-cell-tags-0.1.6

Noticed a few extra files in the extension bundle that should not be published:

src/
out/*.map
azure-pipeline.stable.yml
tsconfig.json
vscode.proposed.notebookWorkspaceEdit.d.ts # This file should be removed entirely since the api has been finalized

Can not install on VSCode 1.70.00

In current VSCode version 1.70.00, the extension can not even be installed.

Is there a need to switch to VSCode insider? Or is it a bug?

Environment:

  • Windows 10 WSL (Ubuntu-20)
  • VSCode 1.70.00

Cannot Remove Tags with 'x'

When 'first' tag is added to a cell clicking the 'x' does not remove the tag.

image

I get the following VsCode error.

image

VsCode Version: 1.71
OS: macOS Monterey Version 12.6

Extension stops working if macos sleeps

I'm using this with a conda env with python 3.10.4 in a macos Sonoma 14.31 while connected to a server using the ssh extension.

Sometimes after my mac wakes up the extension is just not working anymore.
I couldn't get another way to fix it other than uninstalling it and installing it back.

Happy to provide more logging material with further clarifications from the dev team, best.

Use a context key to show cell tags only when a notebook is open

I have seen cell tags show up like this multiple times:

image

This happened because somehow I don't have Jupyter installed but I do have cell tags installed, and I definitely didn't manually install cell tags 🤷

Regardless, can we use a when clause so this only shows up when a notebook is open?

Style Cell By Tag

One way using cell tags is to support custom styling or display of particular notebook cells.

For example, the classic notebook nb_extension_tagstyler used tags to render cells using warning of success style theming:

image

It would be useful to be able to define presentation tags, and then associate styling with them, either via a config file or via a preferences UI.

When the cell tag is added to a cell, any custom styling should be immediately applied.

When a cell tag is removed from a cell, any custom styling should immediately be removed.

+ Tag not showing in cells without tags

Hi!
I have been thoroughly enjoying the functionality of the extension. However, I have encountered difficulty in locating the "+Tag" button within cells that do not yet contain any tags. It appears that the button becomes visible only after adding the first tag to a cell.

Could you please provide guidance on how to make the "+Tag" button visible in cells without existing tags? I would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Thank you very much for your attention to this inquiry.

Best regards,
Matías.
