I'm aware of this problem. I posted 2.1.0-beta on Friday evening to the MODx extras. A submission has to be validated by the MODx team before it is displayed. It seems that the whole package is blocked when there is a pending validation of a new version :(.

Nevertheless you still can install the Babel 2.0.0-beta via the package manager in your MODx manager. Or you can enter the package's URL directly into your browser: http://modxcms.com/extras/package/?package=781

As soon as version 2.1.0-beta will be validated I'll submit the current version (2.1.1-rc1) which is already available here at GitHub.

Cheers,
Jakob

Or, better, how can I update myself without changing all the files manually?

You may download the sources and build the package on your own by using the build script. The build script requires a working MODx instance. To build the package you have to:

  • create a build.config.php file in the build" folder (use build.config.sample.php as a template) and set the path to your MODx instance.
  • execute the build/build.transport.php" script
  • after successfully running the build script the package zip-file is located in your MODx instance under /core/packages/babel-*.transport.zip

It might be that you won't be noticed about package updates when you put it manually into your /core/packages folder...

Note: 2.1.0 is displayed as a separate package not as an update of 2.0.0
Don't know if it's a modxcms.com problem or if it's a package problem...

Hmm, I added always a new version (not a new package). If you look at http://modxcms.com/extras/package/?package=781 all three versions (2.0.0, 2.1.0 and 2.1.1) are listed in the same package

Okay. Seems to be a MODx Bug then. Appears in Package Management. And even wasn't marked as "update available".
