When updating the status of the selected mirrors is a worthwhile data point to have for troubleshooting.

pacman-mirrors --status reports the mirrors and status in this format:

In this example only mirrors 3 & 4 are up to date but this should not be an issue with the update since pamac should use only up-to-date mirrors. The goal should be to report a failure if there are no up-to-date mirrors, informing the user about the status of the selected mirrors.

Create PKGBUILD for installing the script.

Implement notify-send, instead of kdialog to make it more desktop-independant.

Add argument to skip orphan removal.
Do not give it a short version, only a long option (--skipOrphanRemoval) or some such.

If upgrade successfully done, remove orphan packages.

Split log building and post generation into two distinctive processes.

Add argument ro provide possibility for providing custom backup command, in which case it will override the default timeshift backup

Add argument to skip backup.

Disable services that can interrupt update process, as mentioned in reference link. Before backup starts even.

Enable services again when complete.

Add option to delete users' caches after an upgrade.

Dependent on #10.

When done, rewrite forum post generation to generate the forum post from the logs.
