Electronics tutorial

Hi,

Ive seen this project and was really amazed and want to try it for my machine too.

However I have no clue about the electronics - how to connect the Pi and the machine in detail.

Are you still planning to do a noob-friendly tutorial? Would be awesome!

Cheers

Question about electronics

Hello! Thanks for the awesome project! Can you share some higher quality pics of the display board? Especially the markings on the two ICs (They look like shift registers at first glance).

I recently got myself this coffee machine and I also plan to make it smart. However I decided on a different approach: I want to just redesign the board with leds and buttons to a custom-made with a esp8266(esphome) onboard so that it would just be a snap-in replacement.

Thanks!

RFID payment system

Hi,

I had a somewhat similar idea with our coffee machine. We have the same DeLonghi machine. What we want to do is to have a system, which requires a RFID card to unlock the device. The normal buttons should not work anymore.

Now, we could do it with the same technique like you by interfacing the buttons, but it would be great, if we could reverse engineer the firmware and modify it like we want. And I saw in your todo list, that you also plan to interface all sensors and so on.

We have the schematics of the machine and the firmware (the schematics are in german, but as I can see, you are from Berlin). I will attach both to this issue. Maybe we can join forces :)

Waste water?

Sorry for make this an issue, did not find you contact info.
Do you have any good solution for the rinse/waste water that pumps out on boot?

If I make it with Google Assistant in the morning - Hey Google, make a double espresso.
Then It will boot up and rinse the water about 5-10 cl. Then this automation will be no good or do you have found out any good solution for this?

THANKS for all the nice guides!
