capturetheflag's Issues

GPS/Map Coordinate Updating Mismatch/Speed

Map currently doesn't usually match actual GPS outside to map location. Also, update speed is likely too slow (10-20 seconds). Ideally a target of every 1-2 seconds would be good.

Option to have the Flags be Phones

It would be cool if the flags could be identified by phones set so both teams have permission to see them, This would require some special identifier. Not necessary, but would be a great enhancement that shouldn't be too hard to execute?

Referee Mode

It would be nice if there was a referee mode that could see all player locations and chats. This isn't important to us playing but seems like it could enhance the commercial value of the app.

Map Doesn't Localize to Playing Field

It would be nice if the map automagically localized the bounds of the window to either the playing field (predefined) or perhaps better, to the bounding box of the area occupied by other people on the same team?

Track Battery Usage

Doesn't currently seem to be a big issue, but wanted to keep a note about it. Different phones were impacted differently during the test on 7/8.

Connection Status Indicator

It would be nice to have an indicator of connection status. I've been disconnected a few times I think and couldn't tell if this was actually true. Adding an indicator would allow better troubleshooting of connection issues as well!

Voice Chat Would be a Nice Addition Someday

It would actually be nice if voice chat was somehow voice-to-text converted into the chat room. Or if there was an option to do that. I've never actually used combined voice/text rooms, so I'm not sure of best practices, but in principle, it makes some sense. Text chat is probably distracting in a quickly paced game.

Data Usage

I have no idea if this even matters, but it might be relevant at some point to know much data the app uses on a phone vs. server.

Geofence the flag

Though I've realized that this probably only practically works if the flag's location is known to everyone to begin with.

Need Player Identifiers on the Map

It would be nice if you could tell who was who just by looking at the map. Alternatively (but less good), it would be ok to tell that based on clicking on people.
