What exactly isn't working? Is the shader not getting assigned?
It should be regular Maya instances as such shouldn't mess up.

The Material Mia X wasn't showing up, so my objects were invisible in the final render. I tricked Maya by baking the animation, which allowed me to delete the connection between the objects and the instancealongcurve thing. This solved the problem. However, I do not know why it wasn't showing up in the final renders, but would show up in the pre-renders.
