Hey, nice work. I already did it a week ago in a way that also works with non gerrit repos.
Maybe you can take a look and use some of this.

All trailing whitespace should be removed. It has a habit of annoying people (and myself)

Same for any large gaps between code blocks, reduce it down to a line or 2

reading the gerrit page for every extension with every invocation of the page results in very long runtime for installations with many extensions (test with about 50 extensions does not work)

Message documentation should be added for any and all translatable strings in your extension. It's to help give translators information on what they're translating - a mixture of context and relevant information

It would make sense to cache the information retrieved (or at least, give the option to) from remote servers, so you don't end up with 10s of repeated outgoing requests to the same server in the same period.

For most cases, having information that is 24 hours or so out of date wouldn't be much of an issue

Most of you code uses tabs for indenting, but in your localisation related files and your loader file you have a mix of spaces and tabs.

Doesn't matter which you use, just be consistent :)

Hi, i have MediaWiki 1.20.3, this extension show's me no updates SpecialExtension on my Site. Do i have to set somewhere more settings?

But this Extension, which also shows if updates are available works for me..

It would seem every php file in your project uses \n for line separators except ExtensionStatus.alias.php

Hi please fix issues with this extension because it is not compatible with mediawiki 1.25, 1.24,1.23,1.22 please fix it.
