That’s changed indeed, it slipped my attention. Do you want to create a pull request for the original “WTW card” source and/or mine version?
btw, the new method is described on https://developers.home-assistant.io/docs/frontend/custom-ui/registering-resources/

I added it the new way and my error is gone, but so is my custom card?
When Editing my UI it does show but empty?

Yes multiple times and also renamed the file just to make sure. No luck...
