CloudBees Rollout Workshop

This workshop will provide a basic understanding of how to create and manage feature flags with CloudBees Rollout.

This repository contains instructions and learning materials for the workshop that is designed to teach the following key concepts:

  • How to introduce feature flags into your multiplatform application
  • How to separate feature deployments from releases
  • How to control features in production with the Rollout dashboard
  • How to use Rollout's many developer friendly tools to make feature flag implementation easier

Workshop Prerequisites

In order to follow along with the hands-on portion of the workshop students should have the following resources available to them:

  • Internet access to include access to https://github.com
  • An account on https://github.com and a basic understanding of how to use GitHub to do things like fork a repository, clone a repository, and checkout different branches
  • Access to a text editor of some sort to be able to follow along with the code changes during the workshop
  • A basic understanding of Docker: https://docs.docker.com/get-started/
  • Docker installed on your machine, and the understanding of Docker to be able to create Docker images from a prebuilt Dockerfile
  • Access to the Rollout dashboard
