• myserver ... implements existing COM interface.
• myclient ... a client implementation of myserver.
• customclient ... implements custom interface generated by MIDL.
• customclient ... a client implementation of customserver.

I implemented these programs with reference to this web site:

• COM / COMサーバー

• VisualStudio 2017 community edition
• cmake v3.12 or later
• git v1.5.3 or later

You can add cmake and git On the Workloads tab when installing VisualStudio, you don't need install each tools manually.

Open a developer command prompt, and then run the following commands:

git clone https://github.com/moutend/windows-com-tutorial
cd windows-com-tutorial

Next, for instance, run the following commands to build myserver:

cd myserver
mkdir build
cd build
..\tools\build.bat
msbuild all.vcxproj

Note: Use the developer command prompt, not a normal cmd.exe. The developer command prompt comes with the VisualStudio installation. Hit the Windows key and then type "dev" or "developer" to launch.
