firefoxios-l10n's Issues

CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file missing

As of January 1 2019, Mozilla requires that all GitHub projects include this CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md file in the project root. The file has two parts:

  1. Required Text - All text under the headings Community Participation Guidelines and How to Report, are required, and should not be altered.
  2. Optional Text - The Project Specific Etiquette heading provides a space to speak more specifically about ways people can work effectively and inclusively together. Some examples of those can be found on the Firefox Debugger project, and Common Voice. (The optional part is commented out in the raw template file, and will not be visible until you modify and uncomment that part.)

If you have any questions about this file, or Code of Conduct policies and procedures, please see Mozilla-GitHub-Standards or email [email protected].

Typo in recent v99 string

String can be found here.

Issue in string: the . should not be inside the smart quotes.
Expected: it should be “Settings > Firefox.
(so, with the period outside of the quotes)

Error in Dashboard for telugu locale (te)

Hello,
I found an error with firefox for ios project for te locale in the dashboard. I am not sure the reason for it. Dashboard says

Error extracting stats: File “Account/Info.plist” is missing target-language attribute.

Please follow this link for the details.

Typo: acions => actions?

Re: "Quick access to various Firefox acions"
Something tells me that should be "actions". Preemptively fixed in the en-CA translation, but figured it might be in other translations as well (aside from the main en-US source string).

<trans-unit id="ctDNmu" xml:space="preserve">
<source>Quick access to various Firefox acions</source>
<target>Quick access to various Firefox acions</target>
<note>Description of the collection of widgets</note>
</trans-unit>

Fetch localized strings again when a new beta is build

We have had a few pretty ugly examples of too-long sentences in Danish. The latest is:

fx_ios_da_welcome_error

(it's hard to tell that the button at the bottom actually is a button, giving the impression that this is something it should be hard to say no to)

We made a shorter version of the translated string when we saw the above problem in the previous beta version. But since the updated string isn't used in the latest beta or on https://firefox-ci-tc.services.mozilla.com we have no idea if the new string fixes the issue.

Also, updating the beta build (and screenshots) with the latest localized strings gives localizers another chance to fine-tune their translations :)

Unexpected change in <note> string when importing/exporting in InfoPlist.strings

Not sure if the bug is happening here or on Firefox-iOS side, so far I can't find the cause and would need your help.

Please see this PR: https://github.com/isabelrios/firefox-ios/pull/2/files
This is the line where we see the issue:

<note>Privacy - Location When In Use Usage Description</note>

/* Privacy - Location When In Use Usage Description */ is changed with /* file, You can obtain one at http://mozilla.org/MPL/2.0 */ for all locales.

That change does not look right, have you seen this in the past? or do you know where the issue is being caused? Thank you in advance!
