Ideas:

• Dominant color
• Hue variance
• Average light/dark
• Average saturation

These would allow the palettes to be sorted and tagged.

There should be 'restore default' buttons for the overall chart controls as well as each smart input component.

Near term:

• In a cartesian chart, rotations should be anchored to (0.5, 0.5)

Long term:

• All transforms should be handled using matrix multiplication
• There are multiple ways to perform a rotation: about an arbitrary point in global coords, about the graph center, about the local center. Should several of these be implemented?
• Performing a rotation shifts the local coordinate system, which affects the scale and transform directions. Revisit this.

Notes:

• Study the way Blender handles all of this and see if it can be replicated.

Certain curves (e.g. sinusoidal, bound, elastic) have additional parameters, such as amplitude and period, that should be supported in the app and the library.
