BarChat

Front end powered by React & Ratchet.

Dependencies

Node must be installed.

npm update will install all npm dependencies (defined in package.json) into /node_modules/.

Building

Build libraries include gulp, browserify & reactify. See package.json for more.

Build scaffolding based on fforw/gulp-react.

Use gulp to just build, and gulp watch to enable streaming build.

See gulpfile.js for details.

Issues

We track and estimate our work using GitHub issues, according to the following points system:

  • 1 - XS (1-2 hours)
  • 2 - S (2-4 hours)
  • 3 - M (4-8 hours)
  • 5 - L (2-3 days)
  • 8 - XL (5 days)

Anything larger than XL should be broken down into smaller tasks.

User checkins list

Involves storing data in Parse, updating data model, writing the view code.

User points

Points design:

  1. User has a point total, stored in Parse
  2. User points are viewable on the profile page
  3. Points are scored for various user actions, such as posting, commenting, liking
  4. Points are also scored passively when other people comment or like your posts, or like your comments

Native Binary : Support for iOS7

Includes the following work:

  • Integrate solution for status bar in new / old phones (Cordova plugin or CSS solution)
  • Any config.xml updates (including status bar BG color)
  • Time for camera plugin is in another issue
  • FB integration test is in another issue
  • Native icons, native splash screen are in their own issues
  • Create the binary
