Hi there 👋

Hi, I'm Nathan, a recent graduate of the Computer Science program at Columbia University. I'm actively seeking a Software Engineering job, as my previous job offer was affected by the tech lay-off that occurred in 2022.

What motivates me is my deep-seated passion for developing technologies that can truly make a positive impact on people's lives. This drive was ignited during my time as an undergraduate student at UCSB, where I participated in the Early Research Scholar Program. Through this program, I delved into the exciting realm of Virtual Reality and explored its potential applications in Environmental Science data analysis. I was fascinated by how this emerging technology could enhance people's understanding of complex scientific concepts and inspire them to take action in protecting our planet.

I also had the privilege of conducting research on VR's potential in improving the quality of life for visually impaired individuals. This experience opened my eyes to the power of technology in promoting accessibility and inclusivity, and reinforced my belief in the transformative potential of software engineering.

set quiz data as variable

currently, inside the server.py quiz function, the route is always sending back dl and gw data.
Need to update this function, such that it sends back different videos for each questions

Currently, users can proceed to the next question without answering the current one, need to disable this

when the users get answers wrong, there should be a review list prompt on the right side of the quiz page. Should add link to the appropriate review page

Handle empty user input/choices

Currently, in the multiple-choice section, if the user doesn't select any answer and clicks submit, it will cause a server error, due to an empty field as answer_chosen.
Want to handle this case. not allowing users to submit empty answers.

add feedbacks to indicate users' answers' correctness

show feedbacks when users get a quiz problem wrong

Handle multiple submission for a single problem

currently users can submit answers to a single question for multiple times, and score muliples as well
need to disable this, such that users can only submit once.

more graphic design elements (color)

add next page button to quiz page

currently, we only have a submit button
add another button that only checks the user's answer
add a button that directs to the next quiz problem

Reset score

Need to reset the score to 0 when the user leaves the quiz before completion, and re-enter through either nav bar or home page button
