Hi @nealef I have noticed that all the Makefiles use a plain git clone while cloning the repos from github.com/sclorg

I realise that most of these repos don't have a very large and heavy git log but I don't really see any use of cloning the whole log along with the files since we are not checking out to any specific commits in the log.

Would it be okay if all these git clones are replaced by a git clone --depth 1? This change might speed up the Makefile run of very slow internet connections

Let me know if this would be a desirable change to the codebase and I will send a PR

Add image for rust-container. I will like to implement this.
