How to Contribute

Thank you for participating in Hacktoberfest with NGcodeX! Follow these steps to contribute:

Steps for Contribution

1. Fork the Project

Click the "Fork" button at the top right of this page to create a copy of this project in your GitHub account. 1

2. go to the src folder, then to student-contribution.

At the top right, you will see add file. click on it then on create new file. give a name to the file followed by the language extension (.html, .java, .txt, .docx, ...). write hello world followed by your name or username. Save by clicking on Commit Change (top right)

3. Make a Pull Request (PR) to NGcodeX

Now that you've made changes to the student-contribution folder, it's time to create a Pull Request (PR) to submit your contribution to NGcodeX. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the main page of your forked repository on GitHub.

  2. Click on the "Pull Requests" tab in the repository menu.

  3. Click on the green "New Pull Request" button.

  4. Ensure that the "base" branch is set to the main branch of the original NGcodeX repository, and the "compare" branch is set to the branch you created with your changes.

  5. Review your changes in the "Files Changed" tab to ensure everything looks correct.

  6. Provide a clear and concise title for your Pull Request. You may also add a description to explain the purpose of your contribution.

  7. If everything looks good, click on the "Create Pull Request" button.

  8. Your Pull Request will be submitted to the NGcodeX repository, and the maintainers will review it.

4. Wait for Review and Merge

The maintainers will review your Pull Request, and if everything meets the contribution guidelines, they will merge your changes into the main project.

5. Congratulations!

You've successfully submitted your contribution to NGcodeX. Thank you for your valuable input!


Note: Make sure to add any relevant labels to your Pull Request, such as "Hacktoberfest," if you are participating in the event. Additionally, be responsive to any feedback or requests for changes during the review process.
