Setup, package manager, and plug-ins for my configuration of Vim (and Neovim)

How do I use vim_edc?

  • For use with Vim, clone the configuration in this repo using the following:
    git clone https://github.com/nhejazi/vim_edc.git ~/.vim
    sh ~/.vim/_setup.sh
  • For use with Neovim, instead clone the configuration in this repo like so:

    git clone https://github.com/nhejazi/vim_edc.git ~/.config/nvim
    sh ~/.config/nvim/_setup.sh
  • To install plugins with the vim-plug manager, see the directions provided in the README of that project.

  • To update plugins with the vim-plug manager:

Plug-ins

Below is a list of plug-ins currently integrated into this configuration. The configuration assumes Vim v8.0+ at a minimum, and Vim v9.0+ for GitHub copilot integration.

Contributions

This Vim configuration is extremely opinionated and imperfect. If you would like to contribute to its improvement, a pull request would be very welcome.

switch from `vim-slime` to `vimux`?

The vimux package seems to provide similar functionality to vim-slime, though with a focus specifically on tmux, which may provide some benefits over the more general approach taken by slime to support tmux alongside alternatives like screen. Maybe worth looking into further.
