As Mate 1.18 will be gtk3 only, a lot of 1.17.x packages dropped gtk2 support. So you can remove --with-gtk configure option in these packages, if you follow NEWS files.

Looks like there is a wrong commit in atril PKGBUILD...

In a number of packages, they dropped need for mate-desktop.

After gtk 3.22 releases on official repos, I ll have to build test that + see if they still require mate-common.

Why not put the same pkgnames used in AUR ("${_pkgbase}-${_ver}-gtk3")?
Or something like "${_pkgbase}-unstable-gtk3"?

MATE 1.20 is now in the official repos, and uses gtk3. Currently these packages actually lag behind the official repos.

As I was made aware that there is a new maintainer on community (1.14 for now), I/ we need to change the names on the aur for the current to something like _pkgbase-dev.

Besides other cleanup bug, here is a depend to add to some packages, libpeas. It is needed for software using plugins.
