Notine

Notine is a note-taking application built with DRF.

Features

Installation

  1. Clone this repository to your local machine.

  2. Navigate to the project directory.

  3. Create a virtual environment (optional but recommended):

    python -m venv venv
    
  4. Activate the virtual environment:

    • On Windows:
    venv\Scripts\activate
    
    • On macOS and Linux:
    source venv/bin/activate
    
  5. Install dependencies:

    pip install -r requirements.txt
    
  6. Apply migrations:

    python manage.py migrate
    
  7. Create a superuser (for admin access):

    python manage.py createsuperuser
    
  8. Run the development server:

    python manage.py runserver
    
  9. Access the API at http://localhost:8000/.

API Endpoints

  • /notes/: List and create notes.
  • /notes/<id>/: Retrieve, update, or delete a specific note.
  • /auth/: Authentication endpoints for Djoser.
  • /admin/: Django admin panel.
  • /swagger/: Swagger documentation.
  • /redoc/: ReDoc documentation.
  • /__debug__/: Django Debug Toolbar (in development mode).
  • /category/: Endpoints for managing categories.
  • /note/colors/: Endpoint for listing available note colors.

Authentication

  • Token-based authentication is used for accessing protected endpoints.
  • Obtain a token by sending a POST request to /auth/jwt/create/ with valid credentials.

Usage

  • Use tools like Postman or curl to interact with the API endpoints.
  • Authenticate using the obtained token for accessing protected endpoints.
