Sqlite should be more adapted than a python dictionnary for the library, for searching and filtering.

Build the midi file only if it does not exists or if the .mma file is more recent than the midi file.

Like in most common file browsers, each directory being "clickable".
Maybe use an horizontal list view, to be able to scroll ?
Add a home button to go back to the default directory.

Kivy Launcher is nice for debug, but a .apk is needed for distribution.

Replace the edit widget by an info panel showing infos about the tune:

• tempo(s)
• beat(s)
• key(s)
• groove(s)
• length (measures and time)
• lyrics (the beginning)

Some info could be retrieved from midi files too.

Python and Kivy should work out of the box on iOS devices, but it needs building and testing somehow.

Few configurable options :

• default directory
• display midi files in the file browser
• link to github for issues
• "about" section with links to MMA website, format converters...

More pygments tweaking !

I don't know if it is even possible, as MIDI playback is managed by the system.

These scripts are in python or perl.

'+' and '/' should already be included in chords, they are taken into account, but it doesn't work.
