Maybe because imwhelrc
However, after I turn off imwhelrc, it seems that I scroll the wheel once but slide multiple pictures.

Thanks for reporting. I can't reproduce the bug on 3.17/ubuntu. What is your version?

I did notice the slide animation restarts when the next wheel event comes so it hiccups a bit but there it seems to slide past all pictures.

I assume you are using Xwindows, please use xev to see that events are reporting properly from the mouse/x server.

Another idea, the "Skip Images" setting could affect this. Also, you can use the File Explorer panel to more easily see if something is skipped.

It was indeed skipped, probably because I used imwhelrc, or there was a problem with the software's capture of mouse time.

Ensure imwheel daemon is not running ps -aux | grep imwheel and use xev to check if the mouse or X server is sending bad events.

I don't think it's necessary to worry about this. I feel that when you scroll the wheel, you must just want to see the next picture, not skip several pictures. I feel that even if you use imwheel, you should ensure that the picture displayed is the next one within a certain period of time, rather than skipping several pictures in an instant.
I tested it, and if I turn off imwheel and scroll carefully, there will be no problem, but once I use a little more force, several pictures will be skipped, which I feel is a bit unreasonable

I want to know if there is a solution to replace imwheel and be able to modify the scroll wheel speed

You say pictures are skipped, did you check the "Skip Images" setting in preferences? This is exactly what it does if you scroll too fast.

I didn't set it to skip images. I think it should only show the next image no matter how fast the scrolling is. This is exactly its function.
