A parser for the HL7 Health data interchange format written in python. Provides attribute-like access to correct datatypes and provides the ability to construct HL7 messages from data in a dictionary.
Trying to wrap my head around how I would add support for DG1. Do you have or do you know where a full spec for HL7 can be had for free? If not I'll have to pony up for the $50 version.
I have a partial spec for DG1, but its from a vendor and as such I'd rather know what the spec says without their translation/spin on it.
Example:
DG1|1|ICD|2700|Amino-acid transport disturbance
DG1|2|ICD|78060|Fever
It is currently possible to have a parsed message with something like MSH.OBX.MSH.timestamp if you wanted. Perhaps we should do more to invalidate a message if it doesn't meet the HL7 specs.
I tend to say that this would be a 'feature' and leave it at that.
