It should be possible to use something more concise for configuration than the default JSON format. It would be ideal if you could define queries and hosts and then just apply queries to (sets of) hosts without repeating yourself (DRY).

Now we're using Git and not SVN anymore (moved from googlecode), revision numbers are not guaranteed to be numeric anymore, breaking Debian package building.

It might be a good idea to use combined data/revision based versioning, although this might decrease the readability of version numbers.
