I will prepare a cloud-init script to setup the following from the README:

• Installation of Docker.
• Setting up the backup job.

Cloud init scripts are run on first boot of the machine to configure it. If you want to re-configure the machine, you delete and create again.

@link-webcreations if I understand well, you mean to have a stage for doing all the stuff done in the Dockerfile and additionally the entry point. We package the whole stuff and we got a final image just to launch the server ?

Need to investigate why...

• Write Dockerfile.
• Write github action workflow to publish docker image.
• Use /usr/local instead of /usr for installing maintenance files and so on to not interfere with the os installed files.
• Maybe that would be good to have a data disk for storing the docker volumes ?

Symptoms

When running the server without any bind volumes (for testing), there is a permission denied like this:

UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path "/home/steam/.config/unity3d/IronGate/Valheim
/worlds" is denied.

How to reproduce ?

Run the server with:

docker run \
  --rm \
  -it \
  --name valheim \
  --publish 2456-2458:2456-2458/udp \
  valheim:latest \
  ./valheim_server.x86_64 -name "nVentiveUX" -port 2456 -world "Dedicated" -password "ChangeMe1234"

Causes

The folder is owned by root instead of steam user. This is normal when bind mounting a volume which does not previously exists in the container FS layer.

I'm working on the fix in a PR.
