Did you use our redtail Docker image/container? If so, did you follow the instructions from our wiki? Make sure you do catkin_make
from ~/ws
and check ~/ws/src
directory to see if all components are there. Here is what I get in my docker:

The drone will takeoff only after running the px4_controller
node.

Yes I was using the redtail docker image and going straight off the wiki. The docker container however didn't have the redtail repo on the image itself so it couldn't find the packages. After downloading the repo, catkin was able to make the packages correctly.
