n7nix's Issues

core_install.sh should check for dependent packages

This script makes some assumptions about packages that need to be installed and they are documented in the documentation, but it would be even better if it ran 'dpkg -l' or similar check to make sure they are actually installed. It could even install them if needed.

Feature: Comment field

rmsgw_aci doesn't currently provide a way to post the "comment" for the station. I've tried and failed to add it.

small errors in core_install.sh

line 410 has typo in the variable. Should be
if [ $mach_arch == "armv7l" ] ; then

script checks at line 462 for but does not install chronyd

unknown error at ./app_install.sh

Hello,
Sorry if I post this in the wrong section but I don't know where to post.
After Core installation, i'm trying to run the app_install.sh and get the following error.
I'm pasting the error from rmsbuild.txt log. --> https://pastebin.com/cvTJdKGn
I'm running a Raspberry Pi Zero W.

Kind regards,

FLDIGI configure/build

I suggest to use the defaults for ./configure in the FLDIGI build. (do not supply any parameters to the ./configure call)

Defaults make for a "typical" installation of FLDIGI, and do NOT build it statically which seems to uncover a memory leak. When I used the static build as configured in the image, FLDIGI would not run more than a day or two without consuming most CPU/memory resources. When I did a manual build of FLDIGI with defaults things settled down and it literally runs for weeks on end with no reboots or user intervention. (I have an automated beacon application which uses FLDIGI as it's "modem").

Doing a make clean; then a ./configure with no parameters shows as it's output how the build is configured. You will notice that hamlib, xmlrpc and other noted modules are created by default because FLRIG and RigCAT depend on these things, as does FLARQ which is part of the base FLDIGI build.

Feature (or question): Upgrade to libgmime-3.0

I'm curious if there is a plan in place to upgrade everything to libgmime3.0, as even the latest versions of Debian (Bullseye) are removing 2.6.x from their repositories. And it's not a trivial task to re-add all of the libgmime-2.6.x dependencies back into the OS. I haven't dug into the code to know how many changes would be required, or what they are. Is there a devel branch that has the upgraded code available for testing?

Have a great day. :)
Patrick.
