safe-exam-browser-bypass's Issues

This is detected!

Hi, former SEB reverse engineer here.
As I've reversed the insides of SEB, I know their internal structure very well.
Although your solution works (there are better solutions) it is definetly detected.

I used to work for a firm that had ties to SEB. Their memcheck (memory validator) validates memory that is being modified, even file hashes. So if one of the hashes are wrong of the files (which you are modifying/replacing) it will report it to the server. It does not notify the user nor the teacher, but it will be logged and later on your school/university will be contacted by the exam contractor.

So, as this is a good TRY of bypassing SEB, it is definetly not a good way of doing it.

are you able to add me on discord vc.36

Latency issues and inquiry about backing

Hi. Thank you for your tremendous work. Is there any way to back your work financially?

Also I wanted to bend your ear about some latency issues with vmware when inside a SEB session. Last time I had 5 second latency. Any way to improve this? Running on a 16 gig ddr5 laptop with 6800h 8 core 16t cpu running at performance mode.. The instance is allocated 60 gig of NVMe storage, 8 threads and 8 gigs of ram.

New version

Hi. SEB has released a new version. Any chance you could release a new fix?

Bypass did not work correctly i think

Hello there i did an exam last weak and they found out. That i was using Vmware or a virtual machine. Is there some other way they are able to find it. In some log files or something that is being sent under the exam?

Some questions about SEB Pass

Hello,
I would like to ask, if I am using SEB alliance edition, how can I solve the problem that I can't create a session when I open seb?

Not working

i did what it said in the README but when starting safe exambrowser starts normally and not with my desktop, so idk what to do

[REQ] Support for v3.6

Hey! Thanks for all your work!

Version 3.6 is out, it would be great to support it.

Thanks!

"SEB version not supported"

This appears after trying to join an exam-taking platform using the key provided by the website.
image
It reads "SEB version is not supported" and then suggests to uninstall SEB and download the latest version.
This happens on versions 3.6.0 and 3.5.0 with their relative patches applied, with the stock versions it just detects I'm using a VM.

Compiling issue

Hi
I am a Student and trying to edit the Code from the SEB github repo to achieve a similar thing. But when trying to compile seb-win-refactoring/SafeExamBrowser.SystemComponents i am getting an error that the NAudio library could not be found. I am very new to C# so i don't really know what i am doing. Would you mind sharing your "process of compiling". That would really help me out.
Thanks in advance
Have a nice Day!

Moodle SEB Integrity check

Sorry for the unrelated question, but this seems the most active thread to ask this and hopefully get a reply today. I've read that Moodle has a browser key when performing exams to detect if the SEB installation is alterred. Does this bypass work with moodle?

Fair use disclaimer maybe?

@nxvvvv again, thanks for all your effort!

I was thinking, as an academic myself and as a person with a poor memory but a very high understanding of various disciplines, maybe you should consider including in your Readme file a disclaimer for this project. You see, most people will use this to cheat on the exam, I know it, you know it, everybody knows it. But, cheating in an exam isn't fair and frankly speaking, isn’t beneficial for the one who cheats in the first place, since the whole point is to learn.

The reason I'm interested in this project is because I don't indulge in the method of examining the memory capacity of a person, but rather his understanding of the discipline he studies. When I issue an exam to my students, I always encourage them to bring their notes with them, none of my assignments will be directly answered from their class notes if they have not got an understanding of the matter. Exams must prioritise the student's ability to be able to know his tools and how to use them. Bring a surgeon without his instruments to a surgery table, he won't be able to perform, bring a lawyer to write you a report of a case without him having access to data not only for the case but to the law itself, and he might produce a report, average at best, due-to that a) you can't memorise all (Mike Ross does not exist) and b) there is absolutely no need to memorise all, except if you plan to work in a cave with zero access to info.

Therefore, I would suggest you add a small disclaimer indicating that the purpose of this project is not to indulge in cheating but to allow people who struggle with their memory ability. And yeah, I know that this is debatable and now there is GPT and cheating will be there, but, guess what, it was always there, and will be. Having that disclaimer, it might at least protect somehow the repository from being taken down.

That's just my theory, cheers!

hi i have done every thing and got this error what should i do

Is the latest patch gonna work for SEB Lite ?

Hi @nxvvvv , Thanks for your valuable contribution towards this project. As on today I get to know that our university is going to take exam on SEB Lite. So I've some queries -

  1. Is your patch gonna work for SEB Lite ?
  2. If not, what can i do for SEB Lite ?
  3. Please suggest me any alternative way for bypassing SEB Lite Software or Please make the cracks for SEB Lite. My examination is gonna start from Last Week of Feb'24.

SEB server

My uni is using SEB server which can pull logs all the time. Is there any way for me to prevent them for finding out im using SEB vm bypass?

Can we collaborate

Hey can we sell this software please.
We can work together to earn from this. I have experience in this. SO Please we can collaborate

Interested

I noticed you've recently updated your bypass for SEB, I'm currently working on my own VM bypass for Virtual Box, VMware, and QEMU. I'm trying to bypass Anti Cheats in games and Proctors. I was wandering on how much knowledge you have on all of this stuff and if you could assist me in making a undetectable setup. Hmu on Discord if you wanna chat - 0x115#2564

[OFFTOPIC] Any info about ProctorExam?

I'm very sorry for being offtopic and I understand this repo is for SEB, but, since I have nowhere to ask, I thought I might get a shot here.

My uni decided that they will proceed with ProctorExam for the distance exams from now on. I would really appreciate it if someone has any knowledge of ProctorExam (by Turnitin) and if it would work via the VM @nxvvvv posted.

Thank you in advance and again, sorry for hijacking the repo with an off-topic issue.

UPDATE:
@nxvvvv I see that you have added a way for people to sponsor you, and since I was the second person to support that idea by another member here, I feel not only obliged but also delighted to support your effort. I've sent you a small token of appreciation, thanks for your work on SEB, unfortunately, my Uni won't be using SEB, but still, you've done a great job!
