netiquette's Issues

all names resolving to apps.facebook.com

As of 2.1.1 every app/process now lists apps.facebook.com:[port] in the field below the app name. Seems odd. Especially as I have pretty much every facebook related url zeroed out in etc/hosts.

Remove Sentry

As already started in LuLu, Sentry should be removed.

Per-app bandwidth usage?

I know that is a little bit out of the Netiquette's scope, but I was wondering if the app could be able to monitor also the bandwidth usage of the different applications.

It's not strictly for security but that would give more insight on the network use
(in my specific case I can see an unusual total bandwidth use, via a vpn client; but I can't find out what process is using so much bandwidth, and Activity Monitor doesn't show bandwidth usage either).

Any plan to keep on with the development and maybe add this info per-app/-process?

Or, in negative case, what could be a good OSS that can provide such monitoring?

Thanks for your great job non the less =)

Connecting to Google

Hello. I am using Netiquette 2.1.1 (and LuLu 2.4.2).

netiquette

Why do these applications connect to googleusercontent.com?

Why does Netiquette establish connection to Github & Google

I perceived Netiquette as a monitoring tool that should not establish any kind of connections, kind of better version of netstat and other network monitoring tools. All of sudden, I found that Netiquette periodically establishes connections to IP address that according to whois are associated with Github and Google:

Suspicious hosts, visualization and alerting

It would be amazing if netiquette would cross reference remote IPs showing up in connections with black lists of known C&C or otherwise bad/problematic IPs and show/alert if matches are found.

Obviously if matches are found it is a serious matter for the user and they would be very happy to know about it.

UI often freezes for seconde at a time

Hello,

I notice that when I open netiquette its UI often freezes and is unresponsive for seconds at a time, possibly doing DNS resolves?

Netiquette is a great tool. Thank you for working on it!

module sentry not found

I am trying to build it on my xcode, but it has an error saying module 'Sentry' not found, could you give me some suggestions about this problem? Thanks!

Suggest adding configurable UI padding and margin

The visual design is such that even when I maximize the window on my 16 inch macbook, I can only show 19 items on screen at a time. Not only is the font much bigger than needed, around 70% of the vertical space available is white space. I would like to be able to configure this. It would be possible to comfortably fit 50 or so items.

Use case: Network Monitor of Lulu

Feature Request: Expand-All and Collapse-All PIDs

It would be beneficial to be able to collapse all of the pids making the calls. It would help to look over a list of the processes before drilling down into what IPs of that specific pid is making the call.
