Bugs?

Hello,

I don’t know if I am just to dumb or if machine has a problem or if it is a bug.
I just ditched Windows 11 on my machine an Installed Ubuntu 21.10. I wanted to plot faster a farm smother. I installed quite a few dev/build tools (which I knew from building my own OpenWRT image). I also installed chia with all dependencies. Then I’ve downloaded and build the madMAx plotter and installed the GUI.
I have some strange behavior and I don’t know where to start (Ubuntu, madMAx, GUI?)

Sometimes I can start plotting and it goes on for about 24 hours, then it stops. Then again, I start plotting and it stops after one plot. I can do whatever I want, even reboot, it stops after one plot. I could not find out what the difference is, why it sometimes goes for 24 hours and sometime just one time.
What I did find out is that either madMAx or the GUI is not deleting all of the temp files and with time the plot hard drive gets full. You can see that this is the case when plotting in the GUI stops after about two hours (there is no error and the GUI just goes back to the main screen). If you then look to your plot hard drive you have about 150GB free space (these are the temp files that get deleted when plotting stops) and that is not enough to finish plotting. Apparently, there is no check before plotting if there is enough space on the drive.
As far as I know madMAx doesn’t use the GPU (cuda). I don’t know about the GUI. I don’t use the original Nvidia driver (nvidia.com) but I use the nvidia-driver-495 ubuntu package and cuda tools and libraries. I downloaded “Green with envy”, set the “Coolbits” and overclocked my GPU. After that I couldn’t start plotting in GUI. It would get stuck on 11% for about half an hour and then return to the main screen, and it wouldn’t delete the temp files. I had to undo the overclocking, uninstall “Green with envy”, purge the system from Nvidia (sudo apt purge), and reinstall the drivers and cuda to get it to work again but now it’s ALWAYS JUST ONE PLOT. I can’t find the reason why.
Is there a way to put the “n” option in to the GUI? I know how big my hard drive is and how many plots fit on it. I would like to set that. I am assuming now plotting is started with “-n -1”.

Is this happening just to me? Is this a problem with my machine? Am I doing something wrong?
Please help…
Thank You

P.S. The main reason why I WANT to use the GUI is the plotting speed (which I also don’t get).
1 plot with the GUI takes about 3,5 hours (including the final copying)
1 plot with the madMAx CLI (exactly the same settings as in the GUI) takes about 6,5 hours (including the final copying)

Error when attempting to start plots

image

I get this error for each plot I attempt to start. There's enough space on both drives.

I also have a server running the plot manager on ubuntu and I click start plotting and nothing happens.

[feature request] Replotting functionality

It would be great to have the replotting capabilities.
Functionality where you provide dir's with old plots, and plotter wil automatically delete old plots one by one and create new portable plots in the new directory.
I think replotting will be the next big thing, and people will struggle with getting this done correctly.

There is a plotter with such feture implemented already, but it is for Windows, would be great to have it also on this plotter:

Stops generating pooled plots

Hello, the plot manager appears to be making the first set of plots with the pool address, but then reverting to the public pool key once those are complete. Please help.

GUI not appearing, app running in background

I'm sure this is my problem but I can see the app running in the background but the GUI just doesn't show up. I have 2 Ubuntu Server 20.04 machines and this is only happening to one of them. Is there some other software I might need to make sure is installed or updated or something that the GUI might depend on? I installed the .DEB file using Qapt Package Installer.
